"I have had immense pain in my knees for almost two years. Within one phone I had a quickly set appointment, which I went to, was seen quickly and effortlessly. Dr. Kate addressed all my concerns and questions and my pain was mostly alleviated at that same appointment. Thank you!! I feel brand new and think I may actually be able to work out and walk long distances again!"
"I went into EmergeOrtho this past week to try and get assessed for my ankle. My concern started when I was taken to get X-rays. The x-ray tech's were talking to each other about how the X-rays always came out really dark and were hard to read. Even though they took three angles of X-rays, they only gave me copies of two angles, which *were* dark and somewhat blurry. Then K. Ramsauer PA came in to see me. I can not emphasize enough how frustratingly unhelpful this interaction was. He asked me what was wrong and I explained that I wasn't sure exactly what had happened but I thought I had a hairline fracture or a sprain. I also told him that I have a genetic condition that puts me at a higher risk for injury. He asked if I had a provider I saw for the condition, and I explained to him that it is rare, and they don’t exist. Other than making me more prone to injury and my bones triangle shaped, it didn’t really affect anything else as it pertained to this apt (This point was proven when I went to the second Urgent Care and they said it didn't change my prognosis or treatment plan). Rather than going over my X-rays with me, he said "Obviously, you don't have a break" and handed them to me. He proceeded briefly touch my foot to see where the pain was, and feel it wasn’t warm, but didn't test any of my range of motion, the pulse in my foot or ankle, or to check my ankle to see if it was stable. He then said that since he didn't know exactly what happened, and even though I showed signs of increasing pain and swelling, that I couldn't have sprained my ankle. He said "the only thing left is gout, arthritis (which you're too young for), and infection." He asked me if I had any bites on my legs. I said I didn't think so, but did have mosquito bites. He said, no, that's not it, and then didn't even check my leg to see if there *were* any other bites that I'd missed. After this 5 minute or so interaction, he concluded with saying that he didn't know why I was in pain, I didn't fit into any of the categories of presentation, and that he could prescribe me a steroid that *might* help swelling, and tell the front desk to schedule me with the specialist in two weeks. Frustrated, I left the appointment and went to the scheduling desk to explain my concern about having to wait two weeks with an injury that was getting progressively worse each day. They then told me that I wouldn’t even be able to see the doctor in two weeks, because he was out on vacation. The best they could do was schedule me for a month from now, when he was back and there were openings. They also tried to put in a patient appointment request form to try and get me seen earlier, and said someone would call me about that. I haven’t received a call. Like I was afraid of, I woke up two days later with my foot totally cold and numb. My friends had recommended me to another Ortho Urgent Care in the area that wasn't EmergeOrtho. This other place was stellar! They told me the X-rays I had done at EmergeOrtho weren’t good and left many areas of questioning to be explored that looked like possible fractures. I was able to get new, clear x-rays (from all three angles I would like to point out), an *incredibly* thorough exam by a wonderful PA, who also walked me through every aspect of my x-rays and treatment options, and placed in a boot with a cane for the next two weeks for a total foot and ankle sprain. I have been in the boot for two days and already I can tell it was the right call. I would like to be contacted my the billing department or office manger to discuss being refunded for the amount I paid. I paid 80$ to receive proper care and clear X-rays. Instead, I got X-rays that were poorly done and an exam that left me still in pain and no closer to getting answers for another month. I then had to go back out (during a tropical storm no less) after my foot was cold and numb (like I said it would be), to pay for a different Urgent Care to see me in order to get properly assessed. This is unacceptable."
"Dr. Arcedo is amazing. He did more for me in an hour than other doctors have done in years. He's kind, very informative, and doesn't beat around the bush. 5 - stars for him. I only gave 4 stars though, because the front desk charged me $40 when I have a $0 copay. When I asked them to look it up, they 'couldn't see it on some insurances'. Okay, I said, "So will they refund me when the insurance pays it?" To that, she replied, "No, you will have to call the billing department after a month to ask for a refund." So, they're okay with charging you and not refunding you, even if insurance pays them. They put the onus on the customer to do their job... what kind of crackerjack stuff is that?"
"My hard cast was removed, x-rays taken and then instruction how to use the boot. All of or questions were answered completely. The people are friendly and professional, the facility is immaculate. I would 100% guarantee this provider. Stephanie Benfante"
