Reviews of Student Health
"I have always been able to schedule an appointment on short notice. All staff, including medical, are always very kind and helpful."
"The pharmacy and overall student health center should be clear about their exceptions to operating hours toward regular patients and those of us who pick up prescriptions. They close on weekdays at 5 pm, but I just got here at 4:50 pm to pick up my prescription that was filled a couple of hours ago and the place is now closed, although the most recent sign with operating hours says they close at 5 pm on Fridays. It is unclear why they closed early and there should be some sort of way of notifying people the corresponding day’s hours of operation."
"I'm usually not one to write poor reviews but felt an inherent need to do so. When it comes to the psychiatry services offered here, to put it simply, they are horrible. I was prescribed medication that landed me in the hospital four times that didn't even fit for my diagnosis! The ER doctors were even amazed that I was being given this medication and told me to immediately stop taking it. Not to mention, that wasn't the only medication I was prescribed that caused me horrible side effects and made no sense as to why I was taking it in the first place! Plus, I recently stopped attending school and was told by the psychiatrist I could call for refills and they wouldn't leave me empty handed during my transition to another psychiatry. However, I went to call and was spoke down to by a nurse (idk what her name is) who argued with me and told me I'd be refused refills since I was no longer a student! Yet, I was told by the psychiatrist there it was alright. So, of course, im freaking out because I need meds or I can't function properly. I was then put into contact with my psychiatrist and there was no problem giving me those refills. So, as to whoever that nurse was I'd recommend learning better bedside manner. Life is dreadful enough why make it harder for people that are already suffering. The only people I can speak of favorably are the people at the front desk and Dr. Solomon. The latter was always immensely sweet and would go out of her way to make me feel comfortable. Which is why I'm giving the Health Center 3 stars instead of 1."
"Most doctors are good. Doctor Martin is absolutely AMAZING!! She’s very kind, understanding and always provides you with every option in any case. The nurses are good also. Now, the pharmacy staff is kind of rude. You can tell they are only there because they have to be. The staff at the front desk seem very nonchalant and judgmental. Makes your experience uncomfortable."
"You can schedule an appointment online, over the phone, or in person. The staff are very courteous and accommodating. The nursing and doctoral staff work hard to get you in and out quickly; but not too quickly that they miss necessary details. I also didn't have my insurance information on hand when I got to the pharmacy. The pharmacy staff contacted my previous pharmacy and got my insurance information for me. One of the better student health centers I've been to."
