"I really hate to leave a bad review, but I was very disappointed by my experience at Blue Root Acupuncture. I hope that this review will offer some helpful information for others considering this practice. For some context, I have several chronic health conditions. I came for an acupuncture treatment with the hope of achieving some pain reduction. These are the issues that I encountered. First, the amount of pseudoscience is really staggering. While acupuncture is supported by medical science, they kept pushing so many alternative medicine treatments, herbs, add-ons, etc. In the new patient registration I had made it clear that I was only interested in acupuncture for my pain, but they really kept pushing all of their other treatment options. I wish that they had been a little more respectful toward my stated wishes, and not been so pushy. Second, their new patient evaluation process is really overwhelming. We had to pay half in advance to even schedule the appointment, and their intake forms took me over three hours to complete. The initial assessment time with the acupuncturist took over two hours. While we did talk through my various symptoms, most of the time was spent listening to her explaining her philosophy to me in extreme detail. So much about chi, chakras, balance of yin and yang, etc. When she would ask about my pain, she often seemed unsatisfied with my answers. Are you sure your migraine pain isn't centered here on your head rather than where you explained? Which muscle groups in your legs are you experiencing pain in? It can't possibly be how you are describing. It felt like she wanted me to change my pain descriptions to match her theory of what was causing my pain. When it finally came time to have my acupuncture treatment, she insisted that it was more important to treat my organs, which she believed to be the root of my pain, rather than treat the areas that I was actually experiencing pain in. I had made it very clear that my pain was quite severe, and poorly managed. That I wanted to focus on pain reduction first, but she really didn't seem to care. So, I received no actual reduction of pain from my first visit. To top things off, we found out after we had finished the treatment that there we no available appointments for over TWO MONTHS. They recommended that I see them once every week, but could only suggest that we watch for openings due to cancellations. You should not be offering new patient appointments if you are booked so far out that you can't offer your patients routine appointments. I may be wrong, but I seriously wonder if they are only offering new patient appointments because they charge so much for the initial visit ($355 separate from the cost of any additional treatment/acupuncture). I am very disappointed, but hope this review can save someone else from a potentially bad experience."
"Dr. Soto is very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and thorough. After two acupuncture treatments the arthritis pain in my hands was relieved. I’ve had five surgeries on my broken foot so there is a lot of scar tissue and the pain is starting to subside, so I’m so very grateful for her expertise !!!"
"I don't write many reviews, but this is one of the few times that I don't think there is enough space or stars to show my admiration for this practice. Dr. Angela Soto is truly talented doctor. Many people claim to be acupuncturists or know chinese medicine, but Dr. Soto is the REAL DEAL. I've totally lost faith in traditional medicine, and after trying other practices that specialize in alternative approaches, I found Dr. Soto. She has helped me SO MUCH. Each time I go to this practice, I don't feel judged and they are the most PERSONABLE STAFF. A practice isn't just the doctor; it's the STAFF. This office strikes the right, positive energy that few can emulate. After losing so much trust and faith in the brainwashed medical community after COVID, this is the place to be. THANK YOU DR. SOTO AND STAFF! YOU ARE THE BEST."
"Dr. Soto and associates do great work. Thorough, friendly, hard-working, a pleasure to do business with. More important, she has improved my health and made me feel better."
