"Showed up for first appointment early as advised to complete paperwork. Sat in the car for an hour because they were behind schedule at 8am. Witnessed someone (patient?) Cuss out staff in the parking lot yelling about Medicaid fraud! Just wow!"

"I had the worst experience with the front staff. I scheduled my first appointment 7-10 days ago for today and I forgot my appointment time. I went on the patient portal and it said 10am. I showed up at 9:50 to be told I was actually supposed to be there 9:30. I was shocked. I am forgetful (single mom of four kids) and couldn’t believe I was that far off. I explained that the portal said 10. The staff said “we sent you a letter explaining to be 30 minutes early for your appointment to fill out paperwork”. Okay, no problem. I can’t receive mail at my house and haven’t been able to for a long time. I get my mail at my ex’s grandmothers business. She is METICULOUS about mail. I never received a letter. I explained that. Another office worker said she could reschedule me. Okay, no problem. First office worker said “make sure you get a good mailing address from her since she’s not receiving her mail”. Again, no big deal. They gave me the paperwork to take home and I tried joking about how forgetful I can be sometimes. I asked if there was another way I could be reminded since the patient portal is not the correct information. I was then told by first office worker that the 30 minutes early is for paperwork but you have to be 15 minutes early for that. So, 45 minutes early. Holy moly, y’all!! I couldnt believe I messed that up! I was very much looking forward to this appointment and had been double checking everything for DAYS to make sure I had it right. They couldn’t reschedule me because I was new, so, they had to call someone else to do it for them. We were talking about how I could reschedule for today in the afternoon, I said probably not because I had parent teacher conferences. But I didn’t know what time they had. So, the first office worker gets on the phone with the scheduler and says “she can’t make it today, let’s do another day.” Okay, no big deal. I said, “well, I might be able to move things around, what time is it for?” Heavy sigh. First office worker says “the doctor has appointments this afternoon, you couldn’t do it anyways”. Okay, no problem, I’m thinking. First Lady says “what about Monday?”. I couldn’t do Monday because my babysitter isn’t available Monday. SHE ROLLED HER EYES AT ME!! I ended up getting an appointment for Tuesday. I could NOT believe how angry they were that I missed my appointment! The patient portal said 10 and NOWHERE on their website or portal does it say new patients need to be there 30 minutes early and then an additional 15 minutes early for that!! Nowhere!! And why would I need to be 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork?! So, I said screw this and decided to reschedule my appointment from rockingham to Pinehurst to not have to deal with that lady again. I call pinehurt’s number to reschedule. The lady tells me FIRST THING “you’ve already rescheduled your appointment once, rescheduling this time is twice and if you reschedule it again, you can’t be seen here anymore!” I said “wait a minute, I had to reschedule because I had NO IDEA I was supposed to be there. Seriously no idea.” And she said “I know for a fact the lady scheduling you the first time told you about the 30 minutes AND we sent you a letter”. I said “I never got a letter and I can’t remeber half of the stuff the First Lady told me because that was almost 2 weeks ago (again, single mom of FOUR kids). Your patient portal said 10! I don’t even mind y’all rescheduling me, stuff happens. But I don’t understand WHY y’all are being so mean to me over this. I seriously had NO idea about the extra 30 minutes” (by this time I’m crying because I was so upset over being attacked over a miscommunication). She started YELLING at me!!! “First of all, nobody is treating you any way....second of all...” then I hung up. I had to pull over and gather myself because I was SO upset to be treated this way over something so insane. I was rescheduled over PAPERWORK. Nothing affecting patient care. PAPERWORK!! Now, I’ve been in the medical field for a while and had my medical coding certification. I get it! But this was UNACCEPTABLE."
"When I first started going to integrated pain solutions I was going to the Laurinburg office where Dr Bean was my Dr. she informed me that Rockingham was soon to open a facility and asked if I would like to start going there because of the distance and travel time and she had nothing but good reviews concerning Dr. Shay so I thought I would give it a try and I am glad I did because Dr Shay is an excellent Dr. her staff of lovely ladies are always polite and very well informed to the needs of their patients. Excellent"
