"I usually do not write reviews. However, I want to warn All parents. Do Not send your kids to this School. Kids are allowed to pass when they do not complete homework and assignments. I know this because my son is being passed along. And he is Not in special education. He's rebelling and don't want to complete his work. Instead of the school helping my son to be responsible for his own behavior. Their help hurting my son's future. Because my son feels he can still go to College without working for his grades. I do not blame the teacher's. Because this school do have some good teachers. However, this is coming from the upper Faculty. Yes, I have spoken to the upper Faculty. They stated this school has a different curriculum. However, I have never heard of a High School or Charter School passing students along with out them completing assignments/homework, projects, etc. Where do they do that at?"
"I can’t say enough good things about the staff at AAHS. My son started 9th grade this year during the pandemic, and his teachers have gone above and beyond to make him feel cared about, to inspire him to learn and do his best despite working at home alone on most days, and to keep him excited about being in high school. Communication from the school to parents is sometimes lacking and that can be frustrating, but I’m happy to extend a whole lot of grace as we’re all just doing the best we can in a very difficult situation this year. Ultimately, my son feeling like he belongs and is valued at his high school despite a mostly remote/virtual school year is far more important than regularly scheduled emails coming to my inbox."
"I go to Apprentice and despite other opinions I love it, I’ve gotten plenty of opportunities like taking college courses, doubling up on my required classes and that gives me an opportunity to graduate early and have a few college courses under my belt. I love the environment of course when it all started it was kind of rocky but as we kept going I got comfortable in the environment and I’ve had no problems. The teachers are really nice and try and help you be successful, it is an overall great school and I wouldn’t want to go to any other high school."
"Overall I loved the school! Great staff and members, I was always given help if I was in need of it on work. The administration was always there and are always helping every one of those students there! I love the school because they are friendly to everyone that goes in and out of the office. I graduated from Apprentice Academy and I love it up to this point. I highly recommend Apprentice Academy if you are wanting your child to have more time to work on stuff and given the help they need to become more successful!"
"Do not send your child to this school if you expect good communication with faculty and staff. I have had issues all summer and the entire semester so far. I was in communication with the school over the summer trying to get my child's records in the system. Her previous school has issues getting in contact with staff at Apprentice. And even after receiving her records she was put in the wrong classes. I wasn't receiving emails from the school until I reached out to ask questions. Teachers do not respond timely to kids when they have trouble in classes. You will find out everything last minute and have to rearrange your schedule to make it work. Teachers have high expectations for students but do not prepare them to meet those expectations. Teachers also slack in many areas, especially communication but still expect students to meet deadlines even when they inform them last minute. The principal is not open to change even if it is for the safety of students. Please don't send your kids here unless you have a lot of patience or no other option."
