"I am very grateful for my time with Whetstone. They were a fantastic place to work and have a great place for the youth to be youth. Kids at that age are supposed to be rolling around in the dirt, getting scraped knees, and having daily adventures, all of which Whetstone is great at. I have been working in the field for nearly two decades and I will say that the loving atmosphere is felt in all departments to all the youth. The kids don't necessarily like being there initially, largely because they aren't used to having boundaries, consistency, rules and consequences that are followed through, and a team of people who are there to help hold them responsible for their choices while also helping to give guidance to making better life choices and coping with the hurt they carry. I love the team at Whetstone and will absolutely make referrals to them as I am able to do so in my new position. Thank you for all the support and growth that I experienced on such a deep an personal level."

"I cannot day I didn’t get anything from whetstone, but I also can’t say what I got was good. All positive things I improved on were by my own doing of being so bored by the actual lack of things to do. Anything fun we had was usually taken away and then dangled in front of us as a means of getting us to comply. Then there’s the education, if the price wasn’t bad enough, my family had to spend more money on summer school to catch me up to where I was before. I would recommend just sending your kids to wilderness instead, half the price for twice the effect"

"Whetstone Academy was a vital asset to our son’s wellbeing. The sole focus was on his health and mental wellness. I am beyond impressed with their staff and management. Our son attended for a duration of 14 months. All of which, he and the other boys were the utmost priority to all who played a role in his stay. He has been home for almost a year and integrated back into public school. He is doing wonderful. I truly believe in their mission. They go above and beyond to provide a safe and dynamic setting where young men can develop the needed tools to have effective skills and strategies for life! You won’t be disappointed."
