Reviews of Reef Keepers Aquarium, Inc.
"Title: Gorgeous Corals Amidst Aptasia Overgrowth and Limited Saltwater Hobby Products. My recent visit to Reef Keepers and they showcased stunning Euphyllia corals that truly stood out in terms of beauty and health. The store seemed to have a limited selection of products catering to saltwater hobbyists. This limitation could be a drawback for enthusiasts seeking a diverse range of supplies. Especially, if you enjoy supporting local small businesses. If I could give any advice: Addressing the aptasia issue promptly and expanding the inventory for saltwater hobbyists would significantly enhance the overall experience for customers at Reef Keepers. The potential is there; it just needs a bit of fine-tuning."
"My son really wanted to go to the aquarium, but it was completely booked up all weekend so we ended up at Reed Keepers Aquarium shop instead and my son was so happy to see all the fish! They have some really beautiful selections and some of the largest fish we've seen at any shop before! Most shops only sell baby fish, but not here!"
"Amazing Store. This is my 5th time driving 45 minutes to them and I am finally remembering to write this. The advice has always been solid and the owner, Bill is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about reef keeping that you would be hard pressed to find a comparable source elsewhere. On top of that they way they source their fish and the ethics they do business with are second to none. Today we got a Queen Angel, a Hawaiian Black Trigger, & a Bariene Tang and I can honestly say they are the best looking fish I have seen in the last 10 years easy. Where other stores sell sick fish these guys take the time to source them direct, and ensure they are healthy prior to sell, The end result is you get a fish that lives its FULL LIFESPAN and not 8 months like most other store's fish do. Simply put, I have been in the aquarium hobby over 20 years and I will say this: IF YOU GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR FISH YOU ARE WASTING YOUR MONEY. Are they a bit more expensive? Yes, but you get what you pay for. In this case that extra gets you a quality happy fish. The drive is worth every minute and the fish are worth every penny he charges. Save yourself the trouble of messing with other places and go here from the start. Its worth it by far!"
"I have been in reef store from Raleigh and Durham, how this store is different than other commercial store Owner Bill is very knowledgeable and also give you opportunity to shop and ask question as you directly speaking with the owner So about the difference, this store doesn’t carry lots of small frag, instead it has lots of colonies, however the priced of the colonies are very competitive to any other frag, so basically with little higher price you are getting the entire colony. The colonies of corals are amazing and very healthy , usually you can see 5 to 10 such colonies in one single store but Reef Keepers Aquarium has 50+ at a time I visited, may be more The store display tanks are jam packed with coral and look like coral forest and not some fancy frag show, it’s treat just to visit the store and watch the dense coral tank , feels like real underwater The store has many rare corals/fish/ invertebrates, everything may not be visible , you just need to ask the owner It has nice fish collection also , for first time I see Gem Tang in store display to sell, some other rare fish like Majestic angle, dogface etc, I didn’t focus much on the fish tanks but its also fully stocked"
"Top tier guys at this store. The young man who was there was exceptionally knowledgable and, upon my first visit, was responsive when I asked "got anything cool to know about?" The owner showed up while I was checking things out and addressed the price of some really nice corals that he priced really competitively and I think I have found my new regular coral spot. I live in Durham, NC so I will drive past two LFS to come here due to the service and quality. Top notch experience guys."
