"When we moved to Raleigh from New Jersey we were not prepared for the small size of the Jewish Community. At that time we did not have a Pluralistic Jewish Elementary School. When I heard about the Lerner school, even though my children were all too old to attend, I decided to explore it just out of curiosity. I observed some classes and took at tour of the school. I was impressed by the tender and sincere interest the staff took in the students. Being the parent of a child with learning issues, I was very happy to see the positive classroom management style. If It were possible, I would have sent all 3 of my children to Lerner and been very proud of it. I have been actively involved with Jewish Education since 1980 and would endorse the Lerner school to any parent who wanted their children to have an empowered, pluralistic, academic and nuturing Jewish Education."
"In all the years my family has been a part of the Lerner School community we have only experienced a school that is wholly committed to its love of Israel and its mission to instill strong Jewish identity and values in our children. In addition to excellent general academics, our children participate in daily Hebrew instruction, Judaic Studies, and Tefillah. Over the years Lerner School faculty and personnel have been completely dedicated to helping our children become proud, active, compassionate, and charitable members of our local and global Jewish community. We are delighted that such as school exists in our community."
"I am both an educator and a parent at the Lerner School. In my 17 year teaching career, I have never felt as supported and professionally fulfilled as I have the past three years. All members of our community have an important voice. Our students are energetic, happy and engaged. Our curriculum is rich and differentiated. We integrate strong academics with Jewish values and ethics. Above all else is our warm environment. As a parent, I am confident in my child's educational foundation and in our decision to be part of the Lerner family!"
"Academics and the care with which my children are treated would be enough to mark "Loved it". My children are absolutely individuals who are met on their own terms and treated with respect and kindness by the teachers and staff. The love of learning Lerner has instilled in my children I do not believe we could have gotten anywhere else. But wait, there's more! In addition to learning to be caring, compassionate members of the community at large they stand just a little bit taller as Jewish citizens of a larger world because of their experiences at Lerner. They take pride in their Judaism, their culture and their family traditions and openly tell people they are Jewish and beam! It is a wonderful blessing to have such a school available in an otherwise relatively small Jewish community and I have been honored to have my family be a part of it."
"We are now finishing up our second year at Lerner school with both a preschooler as well as a first-grader attending. The school is fantastic, nurturing, everything we could ask for. My wife is Israeli and she absolutely loves the Hebrew and Judaic studies curriculum. Our children are thriving and maturing thanks to this wonderful school. We can't imagine what the negative reviewer has experience or whether she/he is truly legitimate, as I have not witnessed such issues as mentioned in that review. I would like to counteract those remarks. The school treats its non-Jewish employees and family members with respect. One piece of evidence is that the long-time head of school is non-Jewish. It is further noteworthy that I am a non-Jewish spouse with a Catholic background. I always felt fully accepted and was not treated in any way differently from other parents. The Lerner school has welcomed my children, my wife and myself with open arms."
