"Not too slow, and it's right by a bus stop because you know I ain't got a license."
"Nice clean store and the staff members are welcoming and pleasant. The downer is lack of consistent stock and sale items out of stock. Did I mention pricing? Well it’s some of the highest I’ve seen in the states. North Carolinas monopoly on liquor sales (ABC) is costing consumers. NC seems to be on the side of free markets, so it’s time to impeach the stranglehold on liquor sales in the state. Update 9/2023 - noticed this for sometime sale items are usually out of stock. What gives? I was in Greenville SC recently and could buy Black Velvet for $12.99 all day long at Total Wine. They had plenty of stock of everything they carried. It's time to end the NC state monopoly on liquor sales since they are unable to manage it properly. I've heard less government for years it's time to minimize and privatize liquor sales through NC, and they will still get their tax revenue."
"Why isn’t my green card or permanent resident card an acceptable form of ID? I literally can cross the border and come back with just my green card but can’t get a bottle of peach schnapps? I walked in carrying my 4 year old who had fallen asleep in the car. Just needed to get a peach schnapps for a sangria I’m making for a family reunion. The lady upon looking at it asked if that was my passport… which clearly it says “permanent resident card” and proceeded to tell me they don’t accept it. I’m 26 years old, was in line for a while, again carrying my child and could not get $15 liquor for… what reason again? When I asked if could speak to someone else she said I could read the sign. Like what? This is the first time I haven’t been able to use my ID. I wonder if I looked more “American” if they would have allowed me to use it"
"My favorite ABC store! Good prices and extremely friendly staff that greets you when you walk in."
