"We love the school. It's a bit of a drive for us but very worth it for a good education. The schools near us have very low writing/reading/math scores but the Academy has the highest in the area and nearby locations. Great alternative to public school. They made the process super easy even though we were out of state. Highly recommend."
"I just had a tour of the Academy of Moore. My first impression was horrible. The building is beautiful and clean. The class sizes are the exact same as my children’s in a traditional public school now. The lady working in the office was rude and offensive. I had a tour and meeting scheduled a week in advance and they had no record of it. When she found out my son has an IEP she completely blew me off- said I don’t have time to give you a tour but I can give you the brief version; did not allow me to have a meeting with the EC director that I had scheduled and could provide no information on what kinds of services the school has to offer for children who are behind academically. They clearly do not want my child to attend their school. They should advertise on their website that they are not accepting of children with disabilities- but wait, that would be illegal."
"Really excited about this school until my wife did a walk through, I have a daughter who is 10 and has special needs and a son who is 4. The school told my wife they hired a teacher once for a child that wasn't potty trained and wasn't going to do that again and the asked "is there anything "wrong" with your other kid?" My concern out of this is how a school that is regarded as a great school will deny a child based on the fact the child has a special needs and then imply there is something wrong with them. my suggestion to The Academy of Moore is maybe develop a way to provide education to all children equally and without discrimination, and of course not suggest theres something WRONG with your child, maybe use some humility and respect."
"We couldn't be happier with this school! The teachers are dedicated and caring, the administrators truly care about the students, and the school is growing annually as a result. The STEM focus is excellent and we know that this school truly cares about its children and will do whatever it takes to help them be successful."
"The Academy of Moore County is a "School of Choice ". Educate yourself on what that means. The Academy teaches to test just like the public schools but they don't offer the same resources as public schools. When a large amount of students perform poorly on standardized tests, the students are held accountable and face retention. Public Schools offer remediation and parent plans that help students throughout the year."
