"I hate it so much the schools do literally nothing for struggling students and half of the teachers are lazy bums who don’t do their damn job if I could get zero stars I would I hope that you idiots who run this school county get fired because you’re supposed to be making sure that these schools function properly but clearly you dont"
"For starters, I wish the schools here were a little more diverse, but can’t help demographics. They have 34 closed days during school year, compared to only 20-something for surrounding counties. Hard to take off that much. They had me do so much enrollment paperwork on their Gateway site, but enrolled my kids in the wrong school, and made me redo the paperwork after school was already in. I don’t like the Schoology app they use for the county. They let go of a teacher after I enrolled kids, so class size went from 20 to 28, which I didn’t like. Not enough good middle, high school choices, so will drive elsewhere for that. But communication has gotten better, their teacher is a doll, free lunch is nice, they’ve learned some (not top tier though), and I feel they are safe at the school I got to choose with school choice. Definitely room for improvement."
"Have been trying to get someone on the phone all morning to answer my question. I cannot seem to reach not one live person. What needs to be done if your child has a cough that they have been seen by their doctor for for years but the school does not want to revisit the fact that I provided them with paperwork from the doctors office regarding this cough and now we have covid taking everything over are they going to constantly call me to come get my child to be tested for covid? UPDATE: A very nice woman returned my call. She gave me the number to what I’m guessing is the head RN. I was told to ask the RN about what type of paperwork I needed to obtain. I was very polite and tried to quickly give her my child’s story. I paused for just a second so I could let her know the reason for my call. She then harshly stated “ can I talk? Are you finished?! Can I talk now?!” I hung the phone up right away because I had already been through so much that morning /afternoon with the way I was spoken to. I cannot remember what her name was but I really hope she sees this message!! She needs reminding that she puts her pants on the same way everyone else does and needs not think any different!! We all know nurses are over worked and under paid. She needs to humble herself."
"I absolutely love Hagood Elementary and Pickens Middle. They followed all guidelines that needed to be meet last year because of covid 19. If I had a problem or my kids had one they would go out of there way to make sure it was addressed or handled. As I read all these comments about the kids only having a month out of school and its two months of summer break. All the negative comments is crazy about this school district and did you even think to voice your opinion to the school bored or do the survey they had us do? They asked for the parents feed back about the school year and what we would like to see happen this school year. Don't come getting mad on here when you didn't voice your opinion or do the survey. If your part of your kids school life then you should know these teachers and staff isn't perfect by no means and neither are you."
"THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT IS A JOKE!!! They directly discriminate against disabled children by only dealing with it by disciplining the actions DIRECTLY related to their disability! They have admitted in an IEP meeting that the behaviors my son is exhibiting is a direct result of his disability! I am a single mom with 5 children and they have now implemented (without my consent or consult) a modified day where he attends half days. WHAT IS HE LEARNING?!?! The school district is so underfunded and COMPLETELY incompetent! If your child has Any disabilities GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! We were even under the McKinney Vento act and they STILL denied my child the right to school choice! They are breaking laws to keep him out of school. I have consulted with the assistant superintendent, Cliff Alexander and he was like talking to someone reading a script! Absolutly no thoughts of his own and no feelings whatsoever! If you dont like working with children...GET ANOTHER JOB! We are now seeking counsel and consulting with the news to fight for my son's right to an education!"
