"I scheduled a scan here because I had a previously late term loss. It isn’t talked about a lot, but it happens. I’ve had a lot of extra care and imaging in this subpregnancy with my OB and maternal fetal medicine, but I needed some extra reassurance now that we have made big purchases for this baby. I am 25 weeks. I had my scans done with Jamie and she was fantastic. I think for most women, scans are extremely fun and exciting but that is just simply not the case with me. I feel nothing but fear, and Jamie could sense that. She handled it perfectly. She got straight to the point with showing us structures first which is what I cared about most. She didn’t make me feel weird for not walking in THRILLED to be there. She met me where I was emotionally and the importance of this with ultrasound technicians, in my opinion CANNOT be overstated. It’s really hard for some of us, and having compassionate providers like Jamie make profound impacts on how we as loss moms can move forward in subsequent pregnancies.
