About the Business
Little Pee Dee State Park, located at 1298 State Park Road in Dillon, South Carolina, is a beautiful park and tourist attraction that offers a variety of outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy. As the park manager, I have a deep appreciation for the wildlife that can be found here, from great blue herons to otters and wild turkeys.
One of the highlights of the park is 54-acre Lake Norton and the spillway, where visitors can kayak, canoe, fish, or simply take a leisurely walk along the dam. The park is a serene setting for those looking to connect with nature and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Named after the blackwater Little Pee Dee River, the park is a popular destination for both coastal travelers and locals, thanks to its easy access to Interstate 95 and amenities such as picnicking and camping facilities. Visitors can explore the unique features of the South Carolina Sandhills region and learn about the Carolina Bay, a geological depression found only in the Atlantic Coastal Plain.
Whether you're looking to relax by the lake, go fishing, or simply take in the natural beauty of the area, Little Pee Dee State Park offers something for everyone. Come visit us and experience the tranquility and charm of this hidden gem in South Carolina.

"This is a great Park. Very good well marked trails, cute cabins & nice campground, little play ground and beautiful lake. Fishing, hiking, kayak & boating. Would be a great place to host picnics, reunions or make your family campground. I'll definitely go back. Visited 1/30/2024 lake being lowered to facilitate swimming area upgrade. Weather was perfect. I hiked the beaver trail from the field parking lot. I also sat sunning myself on the dock."
"Great place to camp and paddle the Little Pee Dee River nearby. Several convenient landings within a few miles. Quiet and secure at night. Fire rings with grates and plenty of non-pine wood to scavenge in the park. Only negative was that the tent sites are not a uniform size. Some are tiny and others are very large. Try and scope out sites before you reserve one!"
"We camped here in a 35' 5th wheel. Roads are a little narrow but do able. Site #13 is a W/E/S 30amp. Plenty of room for tow vehicle on site. Not alot to do in the area but just relax! Would definitely stay here again!!"
"We love staying at the state parks and this one didn’t disappoint. Well maintained sites a small trails I didn’t use the bath houses The ONLY complaint is all the lake front sites were “reserved” for our stay. Unfortunately well over half were no shows. I really think that state and national parks need to have a no show policy we run into this problem often"
"Quiet and a wonderful place to visit. Tranquil lake with frogs that are amazingly loud at night, geese, snakes, frogs, fish and more. Bath houses well kept, clean and air conditioned. Campground immaculate, and many sites recently renovated with electric and septic. Open area had horseshoe pit with horseshoes, cornhole, and a huge firepit with seating. This state park is a gem. We also loved that the park had very limited lighting and the stars were amazing from the lake."
