"Unfortunately a couple of years ago, we did not have good experiences after escalating through their on-site staff. Several improvement opportunities were identified including communication, meal options, and honestly our 5 year old is just telling us now some of the challenges he had from his provider Ms. R there... He was 3 before and couldn't articulate why he was crying every day during drop-off for over 6 months. We had to remove him since it wasn't working out 90% of the days... After 2 days at another daycare, he literally didn't want to leave the caring teachers and other kids, made lots of friends, ate better etc. I sure hope this place improved. Several times we'd get communications that he was eating, sleeping, etc while he was home with us. Also they never processed a discount I was supposed to get since day 1...delays after delays..."
"It seems like a lot of childcares including this location are struggling to find and keep quality staff to educate the children. The directors at this location intentionally changed the information about my children’s name and date of birth to deter me from enrolling my children… the tour was very overstimulating for my children as well. I even spoke to the director at their partnering school Childtime when the director mentioned she was already made aware of our tour at this location on Jonestown Rd. I honestly left with the impression that my child’s education was not a priority at all."
"I went to the center on Bethada and had a bad experience. So I thought I would try the center closer to my house. This time I only needed before and after care. I went in and asked the young lady if they had before and after care. I explained that my daughter goes to special children's school and that I just needed someone to put her on the bus and get her off. She changed her story and said she would have to send my application to corporate. I said my daughter has down Syndrome. There is nothing special you need to do for her. So then I asked her if I told you my daughter was in pre k and just needed a place for the bus to pick her up and drop her off could she come here. She said yes. I said because I told you what school she goes to then she can't come. She said yes. So I thanked her for her time. I am a single parent. I am new to NC. I have no family here. This is the second daycare that does not allow special needs children in their facilities. This is unacceptable!! La Petite and Sunshine House you have not heard the last from me! Our children disserve care too! !"
"I can’t thank the wonderful teachers and staff enough at this location. My family and I moved out to Winston-Salem 2 months ago in a rush due to our job relocating. We didn’t know the area at all and put our 3 year old son at a “different” school just out of familiarity with that school as it was the same school name as the center that he was at before. Well the name was where it ended. After quickly realizing that the first school was a Huge mistake we started looking at other schools. We met with this location and was impressed from the moment that they said “hello” over the phone. Daisy even offered to stay late to provide us with a tour of the facility to help accommodate our work schedule. After meeting with Daisy we where beyond impressed with them and made the decision right then and there that we didn’t need to look elsewhere. They offer the care, attention and love we knew that our son needed. They have also instilled that same philosophy into the teachers at the school and it definitely shows. Ms. Akirie is my sons teacher and she is absolutely wonderful with him. They bring such positive energy to the children with also teaching them manners and responsibility. They are patient and understand that no 2 kids are the same. You can definitely tell that they love there jobs and the kids too. We wish we would have found them from the start."
