So many salons wouldn't even touch my hair, to much work, they said. I felt like the price was very reasonable considering the amount of time she spent working on my hair. "WORST HAIR JOB I’VE EVER HAD!! Pictures speak for themselves!! Upon moving to the area 2 years ago, I began a search to find a stylist that could do my hair correctly and affordably. After trying out a few different places, I decided to try Wendy at Unique Hair Creations in Myrtle Beach. She is the owner and sole operator at this salon with supposedly many years of experience under her belt. We had a short discussion upon arrival at my appointment which concluded with the decision to do simple blended highlights with my existing highlights and a trim with some layering. After a very quick foil and dry (typically other stylists have spent way more time mixing color, foiling, and applying proper toner), it was clear that the highlights were not placed correctly, and had very obvious lines where the dye ended. I asked her about this after she dried my hair and she said that was all the better she could do with my existing color. Uhm, what? It did not look good, so I asked her to fix a spot that I could visibly see while sitting in the chair and looking in the mirror. She attempted to show me the back of my head, but it was difficult to see with her smaller mirror that she was holding up. Trusting her and having faith that it looked good, since she was literally staring right at it, I just brushed it off and thought that it looked fine. I paid $200 for a quick hair trim and maybe 10 foils in my hair. I thought that was a little high, but I understand there’s a current inflation. But after I got home and really looked at my hair, I realized how truly awful it looked. There is absolutely no way that an experienced stylist should have let me walk out of her salon with hair that looks like it does in the photos that I will attach to this review. I have never in the 10 years that I have been highlighting my hair had this kind of issue with a stylist claiming that this was all they could do with my hair. Such a simple task of blending highlights should not be this difficult. The cut is also very uneven. My hair is an inch or two longer on one side of my face and it’s very noticeable. I reached out to the owner after I realized that I was even embarrassed to go out in public with the way my hair looks and while she offered to “fix” what I believed to be wrong with my hair, she still would not own up to the fact that it is not quality work in any way shape or form. For $200 I expect quality products, quality work, experience and quality customer service. Refusal to refund my money was the final straw. I will now have to spend more money elsewhere to fix what she thinks isn’t “her problem”. The last photo was taken in a different salon a few days AFTER Wendy BOTCHED my hair. This was before the new stylist fixed my hair. I suggest looking elsewhere for your hair styling needs. ETA: Wendy, the owner, called me SEVEN MONTHS after I made this review to harass me for absolutely no reason other than to tell me she was going to hire a “lawyer” because of my honest and completely factual review. And then 2 weeks later, which is now 8 months after I unfortunately visited her salon, she replied to this review and said that the last photo wasn’t in her salon, which indeed it wasn’t, as I stated in my review. Good catch, Wendy! So I guess if you leave her salon unhappy and want to tell others about it expect to be harassed for up to 8 months after your visit. How extremely unprofessional."
