"Disappointed, I’m not one to speak up. But they have been scamming, I brought in baby boy clothing and they offered me $38.40. I came to pick it up and brought a baby girl rocker to get a price on that too. I seen the receipt they had printed for the clothing and then the lady said with the rocker included it will be $38.40. So she got the rocker for free. Because I brought the clothing in @10am she had the receipt already printed for the $38.40. The rocker I brought after when it was time for pick up. So the fact she did that made me upset but I didn’t wanna fight or argue with them over it. They did the same thing to my friend before she brought in clothing and a swing and they gave her $33 and I brought in only clothing and got $36. Which they just took the swing from her for free when she paid over $100."
"I just tried to bring in a bunch of new toys. They were all bagged together in sets with like toys, or all their little accessories. I was stopped at the door & was told they won't accept them because they were in white garbage bags. NO WHERE on their website does it state that in the rules. They had a huge stack of empty bins, so I asked if I could just put them in there & then bring my own container when I pick up what's left over, the lady said no & told me to come back tomorrow. So I just wasted my time. You should either follow the same rules as other Once Upon a Child stores, or have them put that rule on their website."
"Spoke with Kate the owner of the store. They are bogus! She called back to not elaborate on my previous history. She only states she has the tapes, and I know what I did. I asked what policies were broken? She keeps deflecting and stated she is not elaborating anything she made a business decision and I know what I did. I even ask if whatever I so called did that broke any policies that morning of the exchange, why accept my items and give me a estimated time for a quote just to have me come back and deny me because of whatever behavior I had with baby In hand that was so unfair to the company and employees that required extra invisible security. She deflected and kept saying I know what I did. As a customer this is the most confusing business owner and situation I ever been it. Now I am convinced this is discrimination based off appearance . Her response to that was this is not discrimination, we are all gods children and we are all loved. You painted me out to be a monster on your establishment with baby I’m hand yet again like I committed some type of crime, to just tell me I know what I did, and your not going to elaborate ? Shop at your own risk because this lady has a hidden agenda."
"This place discriminates. My friend went there as I witnessed. They denied him to do an exchange by only telling him he has previous history. They did not further elaborate the actual reason or the policies that’s been broken for him to be denied. They took his bag of clothes and gave him a estimated time frame just to deny him when he came to get store credit . They gave him back the bag to say it was because of his exchange earlier that morning. Why take the bag in the first place if there was any policies broken to prohibit him from exchanging clothes. They even said they had extra security when he arrived for how he acted ? I was there . He had his daughter in hand , all the while the Caucasian lady with the glasses in her mid 40s was being rude and unprofessional the whole time in front of his daughter. “Disgusting behavior!” They said they had extra security for him? Where ? And what for? There was 2 woman at the front counter no extra security. I’m so sorry for my friend, as a customer and single father no one should be treated or discriminated against if the policies were not broken. This place is bogus don’t shop here at all."
"I was surprised to see the amount of negative reviews this place holds. I can honestly say the majority of times I’ve been here it’s been a smooth experience. The girl who has red/orange hair is nice and is a fast/efficient worker. There was one instance where I brought in clothes in a bag and a different worker said out loud when I walked in that she couldn’t take my clothes unless I had a container, I wasn’t offended, I was actually happy she said something instead of making me wait in the line to tell me that at the register. My wife and I have been here as buyers and sellers and the store is clean and organized. Most of the time I get a fair deal on the clothes I bring in. Most of them are name brand but I’m not expecting to make a huge return as some people probably think they’re going to get 60-80% of the return of what they spent. That’s not how businesses like this work and if they did they wouldn’t be in business long. It’s the same model as GameStop and many other businesses who buy, sell, trade. I’m just happy to get something back after clearing up some space in my house. For those who say they’d rather sell in a yard sale, try your luck there. I’ve tried that as well and I was surprised of the amount of disrespectful offers or looks people gave me when I would just ask for a couple of dollars for name brand, gently used baby clothing. I’ve noticed more and more people have been dropping off clothes to sell, of course the business is going to be more picky and offer less the store is only so big and the inventory is as well. For those looking to buy the clothes are generally priced fairly and is a great place to shop for your kids clothes if you’re on a budget."
