"Our wedding at Canaan Valley in early November was such an incredible experience! Being able to stay on the property for the whole weekend with both of our families was really special and made for a great family reunion and wedding celebration all in one. The houses are perfect for relaxing and spending time as a group, complete with fire pits, games, a ping pong table, a huge well-equipped kitchen, a claw foot tub, and a steam shower (great for steaming dresses!). The property is absolutely gorgeous and created the peaceful, natural setting that we wanted for our wedding. We loved being surrounded by animals including horses, donkeys, ducks, a snapping turtle, a goose, and an adorable cat that made an appearance during our reception! Dan and Courtney are the most friendly, hard-working, and welcoming people and we loved working with them in planning our destination wedding from afar. They answered all of our questions promptly, and helped us sort out any issues that came up. On the day of the wedding, their team was great in coordinating with all the vendors and making sure everything ran smoothly so we could just enjoy the day. I highly recommend Canaan Valley as a wedding venue as well as a destination for family gatherings. We can't wait to come back!!"

"I can't say enough about Canaan Valley. We stayed at the Hen House over Thanksgiving break and absolutely fell in love. I would equate it to staying at the Ritz. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the family couldn't have been nicer. We were able to hike the trails right on property. Highly recommend a stay here. It is conveniently located to downtown Asheville. We can't wait to go back!"

"We held our wedding weekend at Canaan Valley in late September 2023. The venue was exactly what we dreamed of and we could not imagine having been anywhere else! The property is beautiful, but the most important thing for us was the people we got to work with during the process. Dan, Courtney, and the whole crew were so accommodating throughout our entire stay, and made the entire experience the best we could have asked for. At every turn, from our first FaceTime tour of the property to the day we checked out and went home, Dan & Courtney were available to answer questions, give advice, and help us execute everything we wanted out of our weekend. We felt very safe and taken care of in their hands and always felt they had our best interest at heart. They truly are special people and have built a very special venue. On top of booking the venue we booked both houses on the property from Thursday - Sunday to house our wedding party and significant others. The houses are wonderful! They are well equipped, beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing with your friends and family. Bonus points for waking up and having the various horses from the property visit at the back fence! All in all we can't recommend Canaan Valley, Dan, Courtney, and the rest of their team any more highly. We're so grateful for our experience with them, so excited for all the couples they will continue to serve here, and we can't wait to visit again!"

"We got married at Canaan Valley on October 23rd, 2021. It was the absolute venue of our dreams! We are so grateful for the Crouse family and their accommodations! It was truly the best experience working with them and the venue is completely stunning! The boardwalk to the ceremony sight feels like you are walking through an enchanted forest and the string lights over the courtyard add the perfect romantic touch. Our guests enjoyed dancing under the stars and wandering around the vast property. We love Canaan Valley and I highly recommend to any couples looking for an outdoor/indoor venue!"

"We are OBSESSED with Canaan Valley! QUIT LOOKING AND BOOK THIS VENUE!!! Why, you ask? Once you see this one of-a-kind, eco-friendly, high-end paradise only 15 minutes from downtown Asheville, there really will be no other option. Courtney, Dan, Belle, and Canaan, the family and masterminds behind Canaan Valley, have gone above and beyond in every way for our Covid-delayed wedding. Y’all, these are the most creative, kind, and hardworking people you’ll meet. They’ve thought of everything, but are always looking for ways to make your experience better! Their pond porch ceremony site is directly connected to their brand new, stunning, indoor speak easy reception area via a boardwalk that is built around the massive trees that provide shade, beauty, and the natural feeling we love. Everything is so well thought out!!! Shout out to Belle, the on-site coordinator for weddings, and the owner of Wedding Belles Inc, who made everything a breeze! She gathered all information, communicated with all vendors, and put my dreams into action for a seamless, and stress-free day! She is a dream! Everything you need is here, and their experience is worth every penny!! IT GETS BETTER. They also have 2, high-end AirBnB rentals on their property with amazing amenities like steam showers, fire pits, hiking trails, sound machines, and heated floors, that we used to house our families from out of town directly at the venue! (Even if you’re not getting married, check out these rentals! We will be going back for our 1 year anniversary because they are that awesome!) AND! Beyond these epic houses, they have 2 horses, Lincoln and Dusty, a mammoth Donkey name Jezzie, Bon Jovi the mini horse, ducks, chickens, cats, etc, that Dan was so kind to introduce to our families! (Our families couldn’t stop raving about this place). There’s so much to love about this venue and this family. We feel so lucky to have stumbled across their property on VRBO in December, because now we have amazing memories and new friends for life. CALL THEM, the secret is getting out and they’ll book fast. Courtney, Dan, Belle, and Canaan, thank you for the best week, and allowing us to invade your space for 7 days! We couldn’t imagine a better place to celebrate our marriage, or better people to allow into our weird love bubble. See you next year!"
