"Stopped in for lunch on an overcast Saturday. Great atmosphere, friendly service, good sandwiches. We ordered a Turk A Moley and the special of the day pastrami sandwich. Both were excellent. Would highly recommend for a Saturday lunch while exploring Pittsboro."
"I came in right around noon and got my Reuben close to 1230. It says 8.75 online but was a 10$ sandwich inside. My waitress was incredibly nice and personalbe along with the cook. The food was underwhelming.. half the meat I expect on a Deli sandwich but maybe that's my northeast bias. I was surprised by the no French fry side. I won't be coming back, but I can see how it can be a place to be at night in this small town."
"Fast service. Nice assortment of pub food. Many beers and alcoholic beverages. The turkey bacon club is stacked with meat."
"We were looking for something different to do on the weekend. We headed to Pittsboro and went to the City Tap. It happened to be a quiet time around town, but we had a great time. The staff was awesome and had plenty of time to talk to us. I am not sure why we have never been there before, but it is on our list now."
"In the interesting town of Pittsboro today to try one of 2 restaurants. Virlie’s, and City Tap. Heard about steak night at Virlie’s but that’s on Friday night and they were closed for the holidays so across the street to City Tap as they were just opening for lunch. Inside dinning was open for around 6 tables, and the bar. They also have a huge covered outdoor area so getting a table shouldn’t be a problem. Order drinks, and your food at the bar, then pick your seating. Only 2 were working the bar/kitchen area, but service was fast even though we were behind 5 groups catching opening time. I had the tuna melt, the wife had an Italian sub that’s her vessel of choice to compare restaurants. Both served with chips or bean salad. My tuna was definitely not the canned variety. Tastes of fresh tuna steak, with a touch of onions and supper melty white cheese that passed the stretch test. The Italian was a cold sub, dressed well with all the Italian meats, red onions and lettuce, and the classic dressing to make it Italian. She liked the crusty hoagie, but prefers a toasted Italian so this didn’t make her favorite. Great beer on tap and wonderful service. If I didn’t live an hour away I’d be a regular. Give them a try and ask to add a fryer for some fries and onion rings to the party."
