BaoBao: Authentic Chinese Cuisine

"2/11 update: I've been twice now and both times have been pretty not busy. The prices don't seem ridiculous at first glance, until you realize that the meat doesn't come with even some rice on the side. I'd imagine that's why they aren't too busy. Hard to justify adding something like a boba tea or an appetizer when you're already $16 in for just the meat of your main course. Original: Really nice people, super yummy bao. The soup dumplings were a little anemic but still very tasty and super hot! Definitely looking forward to coming back again to try more."

"This place is legit!!! I have been looking for a good Chinese place in the north Charlotte area and now I’ve found it! I’m half Asian and from Southern California so I’m pretty picky about my Asian food since there are endless options there. The XLBs are definitely decent and I was super excited to see that they had Sheng Jian Baos too! Service was great and the food came out fast. Loved it overall!"

"There are not a lot of authentic Chinese restaurants in Charlotte area, probably because there are not a lot of Chinese residents here. Can't be too picky now that I found this place. Baos, dumplings are very good. Bao are soft, dumplings are full of soup and meat. Stir fry items need to improve, inconsistent. Sometimes it is too salty and soggy."

"Wow! A West Coast-style Asian restaurant so delicious that I found it impossible to multi-task. True story. And! Truly fusion... I saw Japanese Chicken Katsu and and both rice and wheat-based (Chinese) menu options. As of now, according to an employee: The fishball is off the menu, the hot pot is a no go... And braised duck is now off the menu. So check in person or online prior to ordering. Do not miss awesome opportunity to meet folks who are *actual* foodies from China.
