Reviews of Garrett's Garage
"I came in a while back for my Dodge. They were super knowledgeable and were very honest and fair. I will definitely be back in the future"
"I went here after traveling south from New England. Brakes weren’t feeling right. My dad says they are honest as the day is long. They diagnosed the warped rotors and machines them perfectly. These guys are great mechanics. Great value too!"
"Rodney has been the mechanic for our cars for almost 20 yrs. We currently own cars that were built in 2002 & 2005 with 240,000 miles plus and he keeps them well maintained and saves us a lot of $$. He enjoys working on cars and saving money for customers!"
"I've been here several times. Service is good, prices are good, never upselling unnecessary service. I would recommend this repair shop to anyone, but especially to someone who doesn't know much about cars and wants honest, fair prices. Note: cash and cheques only."
"As myself a small business owner and supporter, I thought long and hard about writing this review. Albeit brief, we did not have a good experience here. I like to work on our vehicles myself, but sometimes I run into an issue that I cannot figure out on my own, or lack the equipment to do so. A tricky cylinder misfire in this case. On the recommendation of some good friends, we took our 2015 minivan (our daily driver) to Garrett's Garage, after they told us that they could get us right in. My wife and I rearranged our morning to deliver the van to Garrett's as quick as possible. After talking with the mechanic, we were told that we would receive a phone call as soon as they could look at it. Well, that phone call came just 75 minutes later. The mechanic tells me that he's decided that he "doesn't want to mess with our van. I just think it's going to be a real mess." Exact words. He told me that it had a fuel leak and a cracked upper intake manifold, and that we should have it picked up by a tow truck. So we quickly got the van picked up by a tow truck ($100) and had it towed back to our driveway. All of this occurred in under two hours. The fuel leak turned out to be a single fuel injector with a split O-ring. I fixed it in about 12 minutes. The crack in the intake manifold turned out to be a non-issue as the manifold was tight and the cracks were not near any gaskets. A vacuum leak test confirmed this. In the end, a mechanic friend of ours freed up his schedule and he and I got to the bottom of the issue in my driveway. Honestly, I can appreciate candor and someone being up front with me. However, people bring their vehicles to automotive mechanics to have their broken vehicles fixed. That's kind of the way the system works. For whatever reason that I still can't wrap my head around, Garrett's Garage very unapologetically wasted an entire morning of ours. Why? Because our vehicle was broke? We could have dropped off our van at Bojangles up the street and gotten the same result as we did with this garage. Actually, at least at Bojangles, we could have gotten a chicken biscuit while they were deciding to not work on our van, because as it turns out, they only make fried chicken at Bojangles. I could understand if we had brought a complete train wreck of a vehicle in for repair, but we did not. Garret's Garage should tell people up front - We fix cars. But we might not fix yours if we don't feel like it."
