"Sometimes they have the product no-one else has, but six weeks ago, I bought 5K of siding for my whole house from them. We experienced a work delay over the holidays and it was raining non-stop, so we had just finished. Wood had been stored inside. I had 25 pieces of siding left sitting in my garage, and they refused to take it back because it was two weeks past their 30 day return window. I even offered to give it back to them without a refund and they refused. Told me "you and a million others hate our policy": Well, if a million customers have given them the feedback, maybe it's time to listen? What am I going to do with it? Landfill makes me want to vomit. I hope Restore will take it. I will do not do business with them in the future. My experience tells me they are out for themselves and not customer oriented. I do not recommend."
"They are great for service, ability to answer questions and supplying stock that is not commonly found in the big box stores. I've used them a few times for woodworking projects and been happy with the quality and look of the wood I purchased here"
"Quality lumber - HORRIBLE staff. I've lived 500 ft away from QCL and have spent tens of thousands of dollars on lumber over the past 20 years and have never had issues - until now. Multiple staff members on different days were just plain grumpy and seemed annoyed when asked for help. Finally got my teenage son to get his face out of the phone and interested in helping with a woodworking project to make kitchen cabinet doors. Was looking forward all week to heading to QCL to select wood. They had +/- 30 boards and we needed 8 but were told "I'm not going to go through these to find straight ones - you have to take what is on top - that's our policy. Well, you can't make cabinet doors with crooked & heavily cupped wood (or much anything else) so we left. Very disappointed - used to be one of my favorite places - even if they were a bit most costly than other options. Won't be back."
"I spent twice as much to buy 'better' quality wood from this business. Thirteen of the sixty-five boards we warped beyond use. When I returned them for replacement, I was told I could only take boards from the top of the pile and just deal with it if they were also warped. Terrible customer service."
"I personally can not say “support local” enough, and I practice this as much as possible. Queen City Lumber is a true gem here in Charlotte. I walked in after calling and speaking to Kory with a request, and was instantly asked by multiple folks if they could assist me while waiting on Kory. Not only did Kory and James work with me on my request, they listened and assisted me with what could work to make my vision come to fruition. I would highly recommend and steer anyone their direction. Regardless of how small or large your project is, they’ll make sure you walk out their door happy. Thank y’all!"
