"They have some of the rudest people working here the management is terrible one of them is worse than the others but they're all rude, and they don't mind talking very nasty about the employees they don't like out in the open and in front of customers. There was one cashier who I watched get spoken to terribly by a manager until she was made to cry. They clearly have a divide in this store and it's clear that they single out the ones they don't want there. So that could possibly be why they can't keep people working at this store. They treat some employees alot better than others and the ones they don't like or that's not in their group are made to do things that others aren't. The employees are the problem they're very rude to the customers and there's one manager who refused to do a western union for somebody bc she said she was the only one there who could do customer service so she wasn't going to do it for him and she yelled at him NO as she walked away and refused to do it. western union wasn't closed bc it was still early Evening so there was no reason for her not to do it except for the fact that she's very rude and lazy. The way those managers treat the cashiers is absolutely ridiculous they speak to them like they're stupid and talk about them to other people the environment here is very uncomfortable."
"The customer service at this location leaves something to be desired. My husband and I were checking out and we had some twelve packs of soda. He placed them on the belt, and the clerk literally stopped him and said “Don’t put those there, I’m not a body builder.” Then ordered him to put them back in the cart so she could scan them from there. He was already going to flip them over to help her scan. I’m sorry I don’t mean to be rude, and we didn’t expect her to lift them. We placed them there to make it easier for her, but that is her literal job. I expect a little more kindness and professionalism especially from an older woman. Very disappointing."
"Shopped here for years buying $200 worth of groceries every 5 days or so. The store has a great produce guy who is always busting his butt stocking. The cashiers have always been personable and quick but over the past 6 months the store has become impossible to check out. All the good cashiers have been driven out with many citing the manager as the reason they left. Open self checkout lines but zero open lanes because they are “short staffed”. No joke they are short staffed because management is horrible . This morning they had 0 checkout lines open. The lady floating around doing nothing babysitting the self checkout isle asked if I wanted to use it. Self checkout is the modern day version of express isles. It becomes cumbersome with more than 5-10 items due to the weighing process and lack of shelf to hold groceries that have been rung up. Aside from that, I don’t work for food lion so I shouldn’t be ringing out my groceries. Going to have to pay more and shop at Harris Teeter from now on since they employ cashiers. Hopefully they get new management as the store use to be great."
"I have been coming to this food lion for 25 years. I have never met or been serviced by anyone that I haven't liked But the kid at register 3 at 530 pm Sunday 10/23 was so RUDE and uncaring. Made me feel like I was bothering him by checking out at his register. PLEAS FIX THIS. He was mumbling something under his breath so I couldn't hear him but it seemed to be discontent for me getting in his line. The employee at the self che k out said he's that way with everyone. She was trying to help me feel better. She could see the anger and disappointment on my face."
