"My husband, myself and 2 kids have been patients of this practice for many years. Overall, we were pleased with most hygienist and Dr Wheeler. However, their billing practices are lacking. Recently, I have been having issues with being told I owed "x" amount as the total balance for my family. I'd pay and would return for a cleaning only to be told I had a "previous balance". After dealing with this and other numerous billing issues I had started requesting service printouts along with invoices showing my account balances at 0.00 After each payment. Again, I received a bill(expected bc my daughter had a cleaning and ins doesn't cover but 80%) however... there was the notorious "previous balance" AGAIN! Even tho I had the invoice stating I was at 0 balance after last payment. This was it! Last straw! I was very upset and went to the office to pay and sign release forms with full intent on switching dentists. I paid what they said i owed, including the previous balance they said we had. Asked for my printout, and signed release forms. Later, upon looking at this statement, I realized on my daughter's last visit that they charged us twice what the usual cost was(typically $50 -was charged $101) so I call to inquire. They tell me it stated she had moderate tartar and had to do more. Funny, bc the day she had her cleaning we had just had her braces removed. In which they file off the glue, her teeth and so forth. My daughter is 13, EVERY SINGLE TIME we went for a cleaning her hygienist always gave great feedback as per her great job cleaning her teeth(as did her orthodontist the entire time she had braces....we all know they will call you out even if the dentist doesn't)nothing different this day as well. Absolutely no mention to me or her that it was a more involved cleaning.We have never had any issue! So, I asked to leave a message to speak with either the dentist or the office manager... at which time I was told "they'd try". At this point I told them I'd better, otherwise I'd come up there and sit in the office and show everyone the billing paperwork I had. After this, I left a bad review on their fb page.... Needless to say the office manager called me. Unaware of the review, she was apologetic and offered to talk to the dentist and review my charts and told me what the staff told me was "unacceptable". Today, office manager calls back... She informs me that they were willing to try and get to the bottom but obviously I wasn't bc I had went to social media and left bad review..even tho i informed her that if they would've tried to rectify this I'd change or delete my review bc it was left prior to her calling me back and due to what staff had told me. Because of this, they thought it best we part ways and only offered up that the reason I and my ins were charged double for the cleaning was bc ins allowed it to be charged as adult if need be (I, an adult, only pay $89 for a cleaning)due to taking longer(which it didnt). MY suggestion is find another practice! Or if you go here, keep everything, billing wise....tho it didn't matter for us!"
