Dozo Sushi & Hibachi Restaurant

"Went in on a weekday lunch. Restaurant was empty, no music, you could hear a pin drop. It created a really weird ambiance. Miso soup came out at room temp, mushrooms were still crisp-raw, usually the heat from the soup softens them up. Volcano roll had no flavor except for topping. Beef teriyaki box was just grilled steak with cold plumb sauce dumped on top. The best thing on the plate were the vegetables and fried rice, because they were the only thing with flavor. I want to see restaurants like this do well, but this was a disappointment."

"Had a 5 star ratings for 4 years but I had to come back to adjust. The food has remained consistent but the service has most certainly seen a steady decline. Tonight was the tipping point for me. I placed a to go order for 3 sushi rolls and waited for 50 minutes for my order to complete. I’m fairly certain that if I didn’t ask the server the status of my order that it would have been forgotten. I thought my situation was a one off but the last time I picked something up I heard a customer leaving and checking out without receiving food, just paying for beers. I understand that good help is hard to come by but honestly I value communication more than promptness. Good food takes time but not communicating with your customers just sours the entire experience. Sitting and waiting without even as much as simple eye contact makes me feel so devalued as a long time customer."

"WOW! This place is my new spot. Amazing service, sushi, prices, and atmosphere. The owner was genuine and cared about all of his customers. Our server was attentive and made sure everything was amazing. Everyone check this place out you won’t regret it."

"This is my new favorite hibachi grill restaurant! Family owned and dedicated. It was nice to see how passionate the family is in their business! The food was amazing and the chef was in my opinion the best hibachi chef I’ve seen! I used to be a grill cook and I understand how hard it is to time things perfectly but I honestly couldn’t have done a better job at making it! Thank you for a great date night with my wife!"

"My mom and I ordered a few plates to share. The dumplings were cold, and we had to send them back. When they were returned, they were piping hot as if they were microwaved. Also the flavor was not anything to go crazy over. They honestly tasted like they were the frozen store bought kind. But! The sushi! Delicious! Best sushi I’ve had in South Carolina, by a long shot. We had the chicken tempura, shrimp tempura and California roll. We’re not into the super fishy kind, but those three were great. All in all, I would skip the appetizers and go straight to what they’re good at and what you can see them prepare fresh which is the sushi."
