"Used to love this place. 3 consecutive bad experiences have led me to make this review. This last time was by far the worst. We ordered 2 rolls of sushi 20 minutes before our meal and waited over an hour and a half until we decided to cancel our order. Our waiter did all he could to check and make sure it was still being prepped but the it was never made! The food is fine and but do NOT order sushi here - Meat portions have also significantly decreased over the last year :/"

"TERIYAKI TUFU is the BEST! I've had a lot of tofu in my day, and the Teriyaki Tofu dish at Mikata ranks as one of the best tofu dishes I've ever eaten. The tofu is firm and almost crispy on the exterior, but somehow the interior is smooth and silky nearly like butter. Texture is phenomenal and the flavor is amazing. The noodles and rice that come with that dish are also perfect. Add their yum yum sauce and I'm over the moon. Even the ginger sauce with the side salad is really good. I've eaten here at least half a dozen times and the teriyaki tofu has been consistently great every time. I live in Kansas City and visit family in Knoxville several times a year. Mikata is always one of my first eagerly awaited stops. And the prices are very reasonable too!!!"

"Service was good and wait time reasonable. The food taste and quality were underwhelming. The “beef” was almost rubbery with poor flavor (no option to order filet like most similar restaurants). The rice seemed quickly thrown together (see pic of white rice showing a lack of being mixed). There was no egg or veggies in the fried rice, just rice with a bit of sauce. Overall lack of flavor and quality."

"Unreal! I couldn’t believe how good it was. The prices were so reasonable that we tried a bunch of things. The rolls were really beautiful and delicious. Hibachi was probably the best I’ve ever had. We didn’t know it was carryout only; since we came super hungry we devoured it in the parking lot as you can see in the photos. Will be back soon!"
