"First time here. Lemme start by saying the service is top notch, they make sure you feel comfortable with everything. We started off with the Shrimp New Orleans and the Berry Bliss mocktail. Both were really good. Next we had the 8-oz steak and Flounder for entree. The flounder was yum but the steak lacked flavor. The Potato Au gratin as a side was bad, so it let down the steak more. Our server understood our feelings, so she was kind enough to put the desserts on the house - New York Cheesecake and Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cake. Both just okay but nothing that swept us off our feet. So overall a nice experience but it definitely could be better."
"I think 4.6 is a decent representation of expectations. We went on a busy night, so I know that’s not always the best a place can offer. The owner is really cool and down to earth. The food is good. Maybe not the best food you could get for the price, but again… busy. Atmosphere is great. Very “old money” but not too stuffy."
"This was the first time I went. The waiter that we had was very quick and to the point and seemed like he would rather be anywhere but taking our order. He was in a hurry, and when we asked him questions, his spoke in rapid fire phrases. I totally had to listen to the waiter at the next table to get clarity on the menu choices and specials of the day. The high point was Jasmine! We stopped her to ask her a question about dessert, because we couldn't find our original waiter. Jasmine was patient and listened and answered the questions that we had, like a true professional. She was welcoming and inviting and attentive even though she wasn't even our server. Jasmine deserves a promotion and raise, in my opinion. She gets 5+ stars. Total gem!!"
"Really amazing fine dining experience! Great food and even more wonderful service! We visited for our Anniversary Dinner, and was glad we chose this place... For starters, tried the outstanding Pan seared Scallops, Crispy Calamari over Risotto washed down with Old Fashioned Cocktail and Moscato... For mains tried the Pan fried Grouper with Crab meat over New Orleans butter sauce, Veal Piccata with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and finally Bread Butter Pudding with Whiskey sauce to end which was complimentary since it was a special occasion! Amazing experience, would love going back just for the Scallops alone!"
"We tried Rey's after I heard so much about it. I have mixed feelings about our experience. The restaurant was decorated for the holiday and was beautiful. We had enough space at our table for three. Our waiter Cameron was attentive, not overly hovering. About the food (the whole reason we were jere). The pork chop was enormous. The beef tornadoes were about the same size as the fried oysters, which was disappointing. The steak was cooked the way I had asked - hot pink center. The sides were plentiful and tasty. Here are my complaints. When the Bananas Forester were prepared for the table on either side, the flames were awfully close to us - one of us felt the heat on the back of their head. Here's my biggest complaint: when our leftovers were brought to us, the wait person put the bag on the floor. Dude, don't put my food on the floor, when there was space on the table or on a chair. I think I'll go back but this time I would go with a ribeye instead of the beef tornadoes."
