"All of the meats are great, save the ribs—they were not prepared or cooked correctly. The smoked wings are fantastic, and I will be back for those for sure. The sides were really good, especially the Brussels sprouts—wow, those are special. I’m not sure what was going on with the sauces—Big Mike must be on vacation. The vinegar dip seemed flat and the Sweet N Tangy sauce was overly sweet, not tangy, and lacked seasoning. Odd. However, I found that I really didn’t want any because of the flavor of the meats took center stage. Service was slow and lacking, but we weren’t in a hurry. When I walked in, I was excited because of the welcoming atmosphere & smells. Upon walking out, I wondered if I’d have been happier ordering some wings and Brussels and taking them home to eat."

"❤️ the Brisket, very generous cuts. The potato salad is unlike anything you've ever had or tasted before ( a true must have for your first time). Wings are always a great choice with Superbowl coming up. George will greet you and make conversation, especially if you're sitting up at the counter. Don't forget to take home your favorite bottle of BBQ sauce. I know I'm set."

"Our family travels quite a bit and we make it a point to stop at local BBQ places wherever we visit. After a quick search of BBQ in the area we are staying, we decided to come to Big Mikes. Walking in, I thought we were going to be in for a treat. Service was slow but we weren't in a hurry, so no big deal. We never got offered drink refills, and they missed out on me ordering another local Lager from their draft beer options. It seemed like they had enough people working, but they didn't work very well together. My son and I both ordered ribs and 5 different sides, so we could share. I also ordered smoked sausage. All of the sides were fantastic, as was the smoked sausage. The issue was the ribs. Not only were they burned, but whomever prepped them before smoking them did NOT remove the membrane on the bone side. Not sure if that is customary around these parts, but its not the right way to smoke ribs, and certainly not the right way to serve them to customers. It made it hard to enjoy the rest of the meal. I am attaching a picture of the nasty membrane along with pictures of our meal. Overall not the best experience and we will not be returning the next time we visit NC."

"Heaven on earth for the carnivore in you! It was our second time here, and it didn't disappoint! The Smoked Potato Salad was SO unique and a "must try" if you come! Loved the coleslaw twist since I'm a blue cheese lover, too. But the best part of the meal was everything meat! The dry rub wings were so good, I've been thinking about them since I left-ha! The Brisket and Barbecues all disappeared so fast you wouldn't believe it! Heck, even the Brussel sprouts were awesome! If you're around- this place is worth it!"
