"This place is so wonderful. The food comes in nicely sized portions and is very affordable (almost a steal when considering how much flavor is in each dish!!) You’ll need to know a bit of Spanish to read the menu since this is a very authentic restaurant and the employees don’t speak/understand very much but there are always local customers willing to help translate. Having a smart phone helps to figure out what to order. I spent 6 years studying Spanish but haven’t practiced in awhile so was mostly able to figure out what to order. We ordered the sopa (soup) which had a light flavorful broth full of broccoli, other veggies, a plantain, and delicious/tender/fall off the bone meat (spare ribs?). It was a massive bowl and two of us filled up on just the one bowl. We had to order the rest of our food to go and enjoyed it along our road trip to Florida. We got tacos, a steak torta, and a pupusa. One of the dishes came with some nice salsa/slaw and we put that on the pupusa for extra texture. They are very hardworking people who are very humble. We tried to leave a big tip but they kept giving it back to us thinking we were mistakenly overpaying due to translation. Eventually we were able to finally convince them we knew what we were giving them and they looked so surprised by the tip. This place is such a gem and you should try to go regularly/frequently for us since we’re from out of town. Anytime we’re back in the Charlotte area, we’ll be sure to stop in and order one of each. :)"
