"As a Christian myself, it pains me to write this, but I feel their behavior is anything but Christian. In my dealings with them, there was a very consistent set of red flags that I won't get into the details of, but that made me feel very unesasy like I've seen this movie before. My experience seemed to be highly consistent with the other recent 1 star reviews. So I fully believe the customers who wrote them. Setting aside those other red flags, here is my experience with them, which is what mainly concerns me. Over the course of a couple of days, I took both my cars in for an oil change. One of them (the 2nd one) after picking it up started making a loud intermittent whining noise. This started immediately (not 3 days later, but immediately) after picking it up. Feeling unesasy about it, I took it somewhere else to get troubleshot and replaced. Just a coincidence right? With my *other* car, they pulled out the cabin filter and showed it to us when we got the oil changed. It was grey with some leaves and probably dirty enough to replace, so we went along with it. After a month, we took it to the dealer for a different service in which they inspected the vehicle. Part of the inspection is checking the cabin filter. They pulled it out and showed it to us. It was so dirty, it was almost black and FULL of leaves. It definitely was not only not replaced with a new one, but looked like it was 5 years old, like they replaced it with something that would cause problems, most likely with.... the AC fan! What's the chances of having 2 cars with issues with the AC fan (or something that would cause an issue with the AC fan) right after getting an oil change at the same place? In dealing with all of this, I learned a few things: 1. To replace the AC fan, it only takes about 5 minutes and is accessed from the cabin, under the cabin filter. So, it's very easy to replace it with a bad unit while checking the cabin filter without causing any suspicion. Why would someone do this? Because they can simply just replace the bad unit with the original one and charge for the whole replacement with the customer not ever knowing the difference and all they spent was 10 minutes of labor time, while charging the customer $400. 2. The first thought that came to every mechanic's mind when discussing the whining issue with them is that maybe a leaf fell into the AC fan from.... a dirty cabin filter! This wasn't the issue with the fan that needed to be replaced, but it sure seems like motivation to put a filthy dirty cabin filter in like what seems to have happened to the other car. Again - why would someone do this? They can simply pull the fan out and clean it, replace the cabin filter with a new one like they charged for to begin with, and then charge the customer $400 to replace the fan. And all they spent was 10 minutes of labor. Needless to say - I will never take my cars to this place again. I really don't like coincidences!"
"My 2019 GMC Terrian had a major brake problem. I called the shop, praying for a same day appointment because I needed my vehicle to get to work. Bryan, the manager, squeezed me into their busy schedule that day. He even drove me back home. I felt at ease the minute I stepped into the shop, maybe it was the name that drew me in. During the repair process Bill updated me along the way; which put me further at ease. He even let me know about another issue that showed up while they had my vehicle apart. I appreciate being treated fairly and not taken advantage of as a woman. I told them I would be back for my regular maintenance services. You can’t be the service and the hospitality. Do yourself a favor, go check the Popular Tent guys out. You won’t be disappointed."
"This is the best place to bring your vehicle for upkeep and repairs, hands down! We previously had our vehicle sit untouched at another affiliate of the extended warranty company, and after 3 months of nothing, we asked Christian Brothers if they would be willing to handle the project and they quickly did. All of the gentlemen that we worked with were polite, professional, and communicated well to us. We mainly worked with Bill, and he was a pleasure to work with. I know that this car was not an easy project to take on, and the mechanics and staff worked tirelessly to get it right. We are so grateful that they agreed to take on the job and for all of their efforts to complete it."
"Christian Brothers "Absolutely thrilled with the exceptional service provided for my car! From start to finish, the expertise and professionalism exhibited by the team were outstanding. The attention to detail surpassed my expectations, leaving my car looking and running like new. Timely communication, transparent pricing, and a genuinely friendly approach made the entire experience seamless. I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone seeking top-notch automotive care. Five stars without hesitation!""
"I have been to every location in the Charlotte area of Christian Brothers. I believe they are independently owned. However, having been to every location over the years due to what was most convenient in that moment, I can say they all are good, trustworthy people. Have never had a bad experience. My dad, having been a mechanic himself, knows when he finds a good place to take our vehicles. Happy to say this is one of those places!"
