"During a vacation in Cashiers, we ordered a birthday cake from Sugar Cloud Baking Co. with very short notice, and they were able to make us a beautiful pink champagne cake. To this day, it is still one of the best cakes I’ve ever had, and it was decorated beautifully. Such an amazing business with wonderful service. Could not recommend enough!"

"Very disappointed with the experience. We bought 3 doughnuts (chocolate, lemon filled, and cinnamon in the photos below) and all of them were very dense, dry, and completely inedible. You can tell that they are just plain doughnuts premade and then attempted to be covered in whatever flavor or icing it is. I normally would not leave a review like this, however we were very excited to try this place and had a very odd experience. When we went to checkout, without prompting, her son handed a religious pamphlet to my girlfriend essentially insinuating that we were sinners. I understand people are religious and we are in the south, however I have lived here my entire life and it was very uncomfortable, came across extremely offensive to both of us, was humiliating to my girlfriend, and made her feel very unwelcome. After that, we just wanted to just leave the establishment altogether. We will not be returning here."

"This bakery is absolutely amazing! I blindly reached out to Sugar Cloud for help in surprising my friend at her vacation home in Sapphire for her 50th birthday. I live in Alabama, so I Googled "bakery near Sapphire, NC." After a quick reply text and then a friendly follow up call from the owner herself (Serena), I knew this was the option for me! Not only did she personally make the drive over from Cashiers to Sapphire to deliver to my friend the most beautiful gourmet cupcakes ever, she made an extra effort to do so on her day off to be sure my friend was at home for the delivery! This bakery and the owner are the "sweetest!" The only reason I am giving 5 stars is because I cannot give 6! ******"

"We hired Sugar Cloud to make our wedding cake for our destination wedding in Franklin, NC and we were absolutely amazed with the look and taste of our cake! I'm a buttercream icing fanatic and their icing lived up to my expectation and then some! We wanted our wedding cake to be something simple, yet elegant, delicious, and remembered by our guests - Sugar Cloud did not disappoint! I sent them photos of the flowers I used for our bouquets and table pieces - they made the flowers on the cake look exactly like our flowers. I'm beyond happy with how it all turned out. My husband and I will definitely be stopping by the Sugar Cloud every time we come to town to celebrate our anniversary for their delicious cupcakes! We highly recommend them!"

"Very friendly staff. Cute little place. Beautiful looking cupcakes. I got lemon and butter pecan. The butter pecan while good seemed to be lacking in the flavor I was expecting. I was hoping for more richness. The lemon had a layer of lemon curd between the actual cupcake and the icing. It made the cupcake. Delicious flavor combination. The lemon cupcake won for me in this showdown. My husband even preferred it and he doesn't like lemon cake. I also got some super cute snowman cake pops for the kids. Didn't taste them. Worth a stop. I'll be back."
