"A Call for Community and Compassion: Enhancing Sustainability at Our Local Thrift Store Dear Management and Community, I recently had the pleasure of connecting with your team about donating items to your thrift store, and it got me thinking about the collective impact we can make in our community. I understand that the store has its challenges, particularly in selling certain items. Your commitment to sustainability and responsible waste management is commendable. However, I'd like to propose some ideas that not only align with these values but also foster a stronger sense of community and support for those in need. Firstly, I'd like to suggest exploring options like arranging pickups for unsold items through services like Goodwill. This not only minimizes the environmental impact of sending unwanted or unsold items to the dump but also extends the life of these goods, potentially benefiting individuals who might not have access to your store. Additionally, introducing a "Free Section" could be a transformative step. Many people in our community may be struggling financially and, while hesitant to spend money, could greatly benefit from essential items. This initiative not only reduces waste but creates a channel for goodwill and generosity within our community. Understanding the challenges your thrift store faces, I believe these proposals can not only enhance the environmental aspect but also contribute significantly to addressing poverty. By redirecting unsold items to those in need, we can collectively make a positive impact on individuals who may be experiencing financial hardships. I am confident that, as a community, we can work together to create a more sustainable and compassionate environment. Your thrift store has the potential to be a beacon of positive change, demonstrating that profitability and community support can coexist harmoniously. Thank you for your time and consideration. I am optimistic that, together, we can make a difference that resonates beyond the walls of your store. If you are part of the community and read this, please advocate for it. Warm regards"
"Very nice lady, prices were cheap. Payed $11 for 8 items, which included clothes, a belt, and a book. Will come back if I visit North Carolina again."
"Whoever is working prices the items, so it’s hit or miss as far as cost goes. Sometimes they price fair, sometimes pretty high. I haven’t been a single time when they didn’t close at least an hour early, and after a 30 minute drive to get there, it’s pretty annoying how inconsistent they are. They have good stuff, but good luck getting anything. Cash only and only open sometimes, and if you’re thinking you can call to make sure they’re staying open full hours, think again. They don’t answer the phone. Nice enough people. Inefficiently and poorly run."
"I was at Cashiers Thrift Store today, saw some new placemats that the lady at the desk told me were $1.00 each. I thought this was a fantastic deal, since they appeared new, with tags. I had 4 sets of 6 gathered up waiting to pay and then another lady appeared and said those placemats are half the ticket price. I told the lady that the other lady (who was sitting right there) told me they were only a dollar each. She said well she told you incorrectly and repeated that they were half off. I said I don’t want and returned to the shelf. If I had been told the correct price when I asked, I would have bought at half price, but wouldn’t have bought at any price after the price had been changed. So I guess that the only person that can decide what the price is the one with the attitude!"
"Nice store. I'm always amazed at the variety of products that they have here. My wife and I have been coming here for many years and when we're on vacation we have to stop. They moved to a new location and got bigger. The prices are always good. There are many clothes, shoes, books, furniture and a lot of kitchen items. There is an electronic section. This is going to a good cause. They support the community. Parking lot was accessible. Easy access to the front door. The area is always clean and nice. Thanks again for your support of the community."
