"Food was good, but the restaurant was out of many items, especially considering they have such a small menu. They were out of havarti sticks, wings, trout, fruit, rice, and the honey butter for the rolls. I tried to make a reservation online for December 28, and OpenTable said there was no availability until February 5. We arrived at 5pm and were the only customers there besides a person sitting at the bar, until about 5:30. There was only one waitress on duty. I had the soup and salad meal. My husband had a steak that was cooked nicely. He was not asked what kind of salad he would like but was brought a Caesar salad."
"Filet was excellent - very tender and cooked perfectly! Garlic mashed potatoes - very good. Good sized serving. Salad - good but small, especially considering it was a $39 meal. Bread - none. I don't think any came with the meal. But they were out anyway. Service - good. They were busier than expected on a Monday evening. People were waiting for tables. Only two wait staff that hustled! Atmosphere - relaxed, small, intimate. Ballgame on the TV at the bar."
"If you are visiting Black Mountain or the general area, you’ll find a lot of things close early especially on Sunday night. This was one of the few places still open and we had an absolutely amazing time! We came out to the area for our anniversary and our server and bar tender Maggie was so much fun to talk with! Since they were slow Sunday night we also got to meet the chef who makes a beautiful filet mignon rare. I kid you not, it was the best filet mignon I’ve had yet! Seeing that it’s in a Holiday Inn, you might be put off but don’t let that fool you! This place could stand alone as a proper steak house with the staff they’ve got! They are also to-go friendly which is what we did. 11/10 thank you very much and corporate.. if you’re reading this.. give them a raise! ;)"
"Is this place five stars in a vacuum, no. Is this place five stars in a Holiday Inn, absolutely. I had the New York strip and it was very good, better than Outback but not better than Fleming’s. My wife had the Trout and loved it. My son had the full rack of baby back ribs and said they were scrumptious. My daughter had chicken tenders and they were chicken tenders. Wildfire is a great place to take the family after a day seeing the sights. Keep your expectations in check and you will have a great dinner."
"Don't let this place discourage you just because it's connected to a hotel. I've eaten at many amazing places that were and this is included in that. Our waitress was beyond great. She was so sweet and came around often. I got the Philly cheesesteak. The bun was buttery and toasted while the steak had a flavor that I couldn't put the sandwich down. The garlic mashed potatoes were a fantastic side. I asked if they had gravy and our waitress said the flavor of the potatoes wouldn't need it and she was right. The star of the night was the cheddar and broccoli soup. So creamy, cheesy, with this light butter like taste. They were open until 10pm on a Wednesday which we were thankful for. Having 6 people and trying to find a place to eat after 8pm is hard when majority of places close at 9...we were glad this place stayed open later than most places"
