"Cool dark spot downtown. We were able to sneak into 2 stools at the bar and try a couple drinks from the menu and then asked for some drinks not on the menu. The things in the menu were done well and looked great. The things we ordered off menu weren’t quite executed at a super high level but mostly enjoyable. Didn’t really see any unique or hard to find liquors on the half of the bar we could see, I think they could improve in that area. I recommend sticking to the menu for drinks here - syrups and bitters are there for what they can make on menu which is fair."

"Gorgeous cocktails at the bar. The fun bartenders were helpful, knowledgeable, made us custom cocktails based on our preferences. The bar has a really fun gorgeous atmosphere."

"I love Sovereign Remedies! It’s very friendly “local” Asheville! The food is “farm to table” delicious. The bar is welcoming and gorgeous. My only recommendation is to increase food portion size slightly, and maybe add a second piece of bread to the shrimp scampi because the sauce is so good."

"Portion size to price seemed all over the place. The kale salad was small, with very little going on except for a spicy "crouton" that overpowered anything else that might have been there. On the other side the coq au Vin was balanced, tasty, and a reasonable size. As a whole the food seemed busy and without focus. Seemed like there were 4 or 5 prominent flavors in the tort that were all competing. In the end it tasted like stuffing instead after having the mushrooms shine. The service was good, the meals were paced well and follow-up was consistent. The ambiance was nice and had some casual yet elegant touches."

"This groovy bar has a pre-prohibition vibe, & offers seating on couches, at the bar, high-tops by the window, upstairs, & outside on the patio. The craft cocktails were thoughtfully-prepared, & the food was outstanding & locally-sourced. They have some of my favourite gin on hand (Monkey 47), & dozens of spirits in every category. We enjoyed the crudité & found everything well-balanced. Friendly staff, although our service lagged a bit as the server became preoccupied. Wheelchair accessible & a huge plus for us: gender-neutral washrooms! Will return."
