"I went here on a Friday around 6:00pm and there was a good crowd, but we were still able to get a table with no wait. There seemed to be a lot of to go orders they were processing. We ordered hibachi steak with salad and vegetables and the gyoza. The gyoza was fine, nothing special. The ginger sauce on the salad was very good- I would buy that by the bottle. The steak was tender, but not much flavor. The vegetables were fine and I liked their white sauce. The fried rice had a weird taste. I am normally always a big fan of fried rice, but that was gross. The server did a good job making sure our waters were filled."
"Mizu is hands down the best sushi place in Winston Salem. Their soups are excellent- miso, clear onion or seafood soup. The appetizers are delicious. Kani Salad is the best version I’ve ever had. Calamari is also a good choice. The hibachi dishes are great. Much higher quality than the other Japanese restaurants in town. The best choices on the menu is by far the sushi. The fish is fresh, the rolls are unique. You can’t go wrong with any of it. Their speciality sashimi like the uni and octopus are also very good. You won’t be disappointed by Mizu as your regular sushi place."
"Our family went for lunch today to let the kids get a bento box and sample a variety of items. It comes with soup or salad, your choice of beef, chicken, salmon or tofu, and white, brown or fried rice. Your bento comes with two shumai, a selection of vegetables and a prawn fried in tempura batter with a dipping sauce, your protein, rice, and a California roll. The service is always exceptional. The staff are attentive and gracious. Mizu is one of the few restaurants in Winston Salem where you can have a quiet meal. I could actually have a conversation with my family and hear what they said to me. This is increasingly difficult, I've noticed, so I feel it's worth mentioning. A note on the door said they are closed on Tuesdays to allow staff a day off. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
"I've never really had sushi before, and if you haven't either this is definitely the place to go for your first experience! We ordered the Rock Shrimp Tempura appetizer And it was awesome. My guest ordered the Peace Haven Roll and thoroughly enjoyed it, and I had the Caribbean Roll with shrimp and mango and it was absolutely spectacular with all the different perfectly blended flavors and textures. The sushi rolls were about $16 each and $7 for a large portion of fried rice that we both shared was a very affordable and remarkably delicious dinner. There are so many other items on the menu that I'd like to try, but my next meal will be the Mizu Lover's Boat for 2 - assorted sushi & sushimi. Can't wait!!! Hope to see you there!!"
"This is hands-down the best sushi restaurant in Winston Salem. They have some very original rolls that are incredible. My favorite is the Hokkaido roll, which has apples in it. Also love the sunrise roll. You can't really go wrong. We've tried at least half the rolls on the menu and have never been disappointed. They do get busy, especially on the weekends. And it does get a bit noisy when the Wake Forest students get rowdy. But the food is worth it. Always fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation and great service. Been coming here for years now, and it has been nothing but consistent from the beginning. Even through the pandemic, they continued their quality through take-out. Here tonight, in person, for the first time in over a year, and all I can say is "Bravo!" Still the best sushi around."
