"I've been gone a few years so I'm re-trying restaurants I liked. Is Red Onion still good? Let's find out. First look says it's starting to get a little old and dirty, with torn seating and worn doors and floors. But that doesn't mean cleaning sprays and rags should be left on dining tables at 1 pm on a Friday.... or ever if the doors are open. Venue presentation score - 1 Goat cheese and spinach quiche. Not in the least bit fluffy, as advertised. And it's been heated up so hot, I've burned my mouth so i wont enjoy it anyway. Same for the French onion soup. Can't even eat either. Now, that they've cooled a little, the soup distinctly tastes like the parsley soup I gave my kids for colds when they were little. The quiche is just flavorless eggs. Just.... no. Graces (I can't say saving graces because there's no saving this) 1, it doesn't taste bad, but it isn't good either. 2, best sweet tea anywhere! 3, if I could take my server Sophie to every restaurant, I would. Perfect attitude, perfect approaches, and very gracious. She made my visit with her smile. 4, I'm really disappointed in this visit but those who watch my reviews will see an update if I try here again. Update an hour or so later: No, really. My mouth is burned to the point that my gums behind my top front teeth are swollen and peeling, and my tongue is swollen and numb."

"Our server was really great, she was a little (got 3 tables at the same time!) but she handled it perfectly! I wish I could remember her name, I think it was Maddie. The food was absolutely delicious, best French onion soup I've had in a long time! The ad said there was a view, but I didn't see one, that's alright the soup and sandwich made up for it!"

"In addition to the veg burger, nachos, and the fantastic spicy sauce, I also had the opportunity to try the tacos at Red Onion Cafe. They were simply outstanding. The taco shells were perfectly cooked, and the fillings were a delightful combination of flavors. Whether you're a fan of meat or prefer a vegetarian option, the tacos had something for everyone. The balance of ingredients and seasonings in the tacos made for a mouthwatering treat. Red Onion Cafe's commitment to delivering delicious food with a touch of spice truly shines through in their tacos. It's a place I'll be revisiting for these tasty dishes again when I visit Boone again !! Coffee was also great !!"

"The lobster bisque was amazing! The desserts were very good, also. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive. We will return the next time we visit Boone!"

"Stopped in today for lunch. We ordered the 2 item combo. We had the French dip sandwich, with a delicious toasted French bread and French onion soup. The soup was cheesy but a tad bland. My daughter said her burger was delicious. Overall, the service was great. Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks filled. We also had the zucchini sticks, which were extra crunchy and delicious. We asked for a side of Ranch dressing, which made them perfect. We will definitely come back and try something different."
