About one year later i had a severe plantar fasciitis in my foot. Meds, physical therapy, and finally a consult with a Rothman orthopedist. "In 2009, I started to experience pain in my left hip. I used to walk 2-3 times a week for exercise, but the pain got bad enough that I had to stop. I thought I might need a hip replacement, but decided to try acupuncture before calling an ortho doc. The first time I saw Dr. Sciamanna I was walking with a cane. X-rays revealed only mild arthritis in the hip. She prescribed two weeks of treatment along with home rest. Two weeks later, I was walking normally with no pain and no cane!
