"Bad-tempered secretary/office assistant drove my family away from Dr. Bretan's practice after three weeks' experience. The secretary was verbally rude and actionably lazy, refusing to respond to requests from Dr. Bretan or external doctors to provide medical information vital for referrals ordered by Dr. Bretan. Additionally, she advised us to "schedule an appointment, or do nothing" about serious medication side effects Dr. Bretan told us to report to her office should they occur. Twice, I called Hunterdon Healthcare's human resources department to ask for assistance in discussing this secretary's conduct discreetly with Dr. Bretan's practice manager, but I had to leave voicemails both times, and never received a call back. Disappointing service all around - and dangerous from our experience. No secretary in a medical practice should have the power to tell a patient to "do nothing" about a medical dilemma."
