"There is definitely no shortage of diners in Jersey. Located on the former site of La Bella Italia off of Huyler Street in South Hackensack, Foodies Diner was opened back in August 2021, and my partner and I decided to pay them a visit for late lunch today. The owner is Teddy Sakellaris and is no stranger to the restaurant business, as he has friends and family who own many diners and other restaurants throughout the state. Luckily, there was a spot in their small private lot. Upon arrival at this cozy establishment, we were greeted by the staff, who made it feel like we'd known each other for years when it was only our first time, and we got a booth. Trivia cards were on each table for entertainment. Their menu feeds that diner fix with all the morning classics such as pancakes, waffles, and omelets, along with some hearty dishes like steaks, sandwiches, and the list goes on. We decided on the specialty burgers, which came on a brioche bun with fries, one being the Philly Burger (peppers, onions, mushrooms, and American cheese) and the Cuban Burger topped with pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, mustard, and pickle slices. To our surprise, the food was fresh, tasty, and delicious, with a good portion. It’s spotless; the price was reasonable, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and professional. The vibe felt so cozy and welcoming that we could recommend it."

"Such a cute, tiny, hole-in-the-wall with diner food. We were 3 adults, with two kids and an infant, but there was only space for one high chair, and a stroller on the side. Food: your average diner food. We ordered the nachos, apparently salsa and sour cream needs to be requested (not mentioned on the menu). The kids chicken tenders and fries were good. I loved how the tenders seemed hand breaded and not frozen. I usually have to peel through the bedding for my kiddies to get to the chicken, but I didn't have to at Foodies. We also ordered pancakes, an omelet, home fries, and a turkey sandwich, all were decent. To sum it up the food isn't uh-may-zing, but it's good. We would come back as it's local, and affordable. Atmosphere: it's cute and cozy. The windows allowed my kiddies to be busy staring at the passing cars (huge plus for mom). The restroom was somewhat clean, but I've seen worse. They have 2 restrooms for all customers. Definitely give them a try."

"Loved the atmosphere and the service! Went for brunch on Saturday and it was great. Definitely want to go back and try the other dishes! Peanut butter & jelly shake: loved this!! A nice balance between the peanut butter and the fruit flavor! Buffalo chicken omelette: overall a solid omelette, nice kick with the Buffalo sauce, the bleu cheese chunks were pretty intense Short stack of pancakes: these seemed a bit heavy to me Red velvet waffle: the batter was also pretty heavy on these, but I did love that even though there were red velvet cake pieces IN the waffle, it wasn’t overly sweet. If the batter is lighter in the future I’ll definitely order it again! Grilled cheese & waffle fries: waffle fries were very crispy and on point! And the grilled cheese was perfect. Brought me back to being a kid ❤️"

"Me and my friend came here one morning because we wanted to try something local and new! We were not disappointed. Though small and unassuming on the outside - it was cozy on the inside! There were both booths and tables - plus an easy layout to find the restroom and to navigate around. We were greeted by the most friendliest staff and they made it feel like we’ve known each other for years when it was only our first time. They were also very accommodating to my requests and were patient with me when I made changes to my order. There was only 2 people working on the floor while we were eating but they always made sure we were tended to and were doing okay! The food had good portions and tasted amazing! I had the Hash Benedicts and my friend ordered the Fresh fruit waffles. The Benedict was perfectly runny (you have a choice on how you want it cooked) and they did not skimp out on the meats. The home fries were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and were seasoned well. I also ordered a Cappuccino with whipped cream and cinnamon on top and it came in a cute glass so you could see the layers well. While we were waiting for our food they even gave us French toast bites to try! I would definitely come back to try their lunch/dinner menu. They serve a solid breakfast! I wish I came here more growing up because it’s so close to my old high school - I highly recommend this establishment and you should definitely stop by if you’re in the area!"
