"Give credit where it’s due! Their bagels are phenomenal. Pretty much the only reason i go back. They even make a list of best bagels in the area. I agree they’re awesome. I do my best to only place positive reviews otherwise i dont post at all. These bagels are great!! I do wish they were friendlier and more attentive however, i walk in And will legit stand there for a couple minutes while the girls are chatting before they acknowledge me. Almost always. But there is one staff member, can’t remember her name, she’s wonderful! All in all, great bagels."

"I have been coming here for years. I think there have been different owners, maybe. But the taste, texture and size can’t be beat! I have tried other bagel shops and I keep coming back to Alfa. I come from Morristown which is not close at all so that is saying something. I recommend to the owners never, ever change the recipe. Raise the price if you have to but keep doing 100% the same thing because you are doing it right!!"

"These are the best bagels I've ever had in my entire life, and I'm old! And, I've been to all sorts of spots in NYC, including ESS. I'll shout it from the mountaintops: Alfa bagels will beat any NY bagel around and I'll tell you why: 99% of the time, these bagels are warm. They're fresh 100 percent of the time. They've got that chewy but soft interior, that kind of chew that you makes you think, oh, THIS Is what a bagel is supposed to feel like in the mouth. At the same time, the exterior has a nice crust, crisp on the outside. I like their sandwiches, their entire menu, which includes pancakes too, but every time I go, I will at the minimum get a plain bagel just to eat, by itself, because it is a reminder that this is what a bagel is supposed to be."
