"This is your middle tier fitness center. They have great staff, and they offer a lot of activities. Basketball, yoga, Pilates, group classes, tennis, racquet ball, even a very nice Parissi training center for youth in the back. The downsides are the gym itself is pretty old, carpet on parts of gym floor. The equipment is old, the roof leaks, the locker rooms are old with little ventilation. If you can look pass those things you are good, another plus is you don't have to wait for equipment since the gym is rarely over packed at any time."
"We have thoroughly enjoyed our experience with this outstanding club. Personally, all the staff is attentive, professional, engaged and friendly. My lessons and clinics with Ed have been enjoyable and his attention to good fundamentals has helped several aspects of my game. From my perspective, I feel fortunate to have him as an instructor and the combination of a good cardiovascular workout and an educational experience he provides to improve my game is always a highlight of my day!"
"I have played tennis since my early teens. I began private lessons with Rick and tennis camp during the summer and loved it! I continued to play varsity tennis during my years in high school. My husband also took lessons at the club with Pete (way back when!) and played doubles in high school. He earned the number one title in their division for NJ. I am now older with two children and thought to get back into tennis since it can be a lifelong sport with family and friends. I joined my friend in a group lesson with Rick over 20 years later - crazy right?! It was fun but our schedules didn’t line up. My friend mentioned a coach Ed and attested to his ability to teach and motivate - to make me a better player. I knew I wanted to play for fun but was also competitive. I wanted to prove I still had it and maybe someday be able to play against my hubby and have a chance at winning! I started lessons with Ed over a year ago and can not believe how much I have learned and improved! He has worked with me on my foot placement(my left foot always in my way!), my unit turn, following through, telling me over and over again the same things with patience. Ed has a keen understanding of all the inner workings of tennis and is passionate in teaching it to others. I am always excited to try to learn more from him and see my improvements. I look forward to my two to three lessons a week with him and couldn’t ask for a better coach. Ed has also coached my two kiddos -10yr old son and 7yr old daughter -he has been kind, motivating and still informative with them in a way that makes sense at their level. They get excited and never want to switch with each other when their time is up! I didn’t know grown adult(s) would need to hear this (preach it to my kids) but , to anyone that has something to say about the club or the coaches , “if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all.” Worry about you and why you feel so negative in life. I can promise you a placement of a drill is not worth taking the time out of a day to attack someone’s opinion - a coaches opinion. Have some integrity, stop blaming others and own up to who you are and how you act. There are way bigger problems in life and a taking time to say something negative about anyone speaks loudly of what type of person you are. Thanks CHHRC!! I appreciate my happy welcomes when entering the club by first name, acknowledgement of my kids and who they are, even outside of the club! I look forward to all of my time learning and improving with Ed’s help!! If you want to start, even as a beginner ask to have Ed as your coach - see for yourself!"
"Tennis is a sport of proper etiquette and respect. The comments about coaches and non sense related to drills are embarrassing given the nature of the game. Ed is a talented coach coming from an individual that have won in USTA and played for more than 20 years. He has adapted his technique to newer advanced techniques; clearly seen for the pros. Stance, full stroke, offensive play vs defensive and adjustment to consistency at net play are some of his amazing teachings. College tennis, usta and today i have found that he uses up to date coaching. Nevertheless, the sport is about respect and not about criticizing, not even when you are loosing. To some of you with comments below; follow the pros when the speak on there coaches and opponents ——Its respectful and allow for praise … if you are unable to keep the integrity of the game suggest changing sports. Also: my experience with Andrew, Monica , Jeremy and other coaches has been amazing as well. Well deserved to the amazing staff and coaches of this club."
"Having been a member of the Cherry Hill Racquet Club for the last five or six months, I can easily say I love it there. The staff is friendly and I enjoy all the tennis programming they have to offer. Between private lessons and drills, I play there about three times a week. Ed was my private coach thus far until he noticed one day that I participated in a private drill with another coach. I now play in the club league but since Ed was offended that I participated in a drill not run by him, he moved me to the lowest club level in the drills. This isn’t fair to me as I don’t play at that level, he simply placed me there due to his ego. Regardless, I can’t even say my game has significantly improved as a result of Ed- having Ed as an instructor is equivalent to a ball machine. To sum up, the racquet club is a great place however I do not recommend attending Ed’s drills or using him as a private coach as he’s on a power trip and isn’t even that good."
