"Despite the name and their publicity, there is no oncologist here. Visits are done virtually from across the country by doctors who will never meet nor examine your pet. They do not allow follow-up conversations with the remote oncologist, and they cannot follow up with any kind of treatment. Pet owners are given a generic list of surgeons, some of which are not local, and are expected to continue the process on their own. When doing so, expect to pay for the second facility's oncology exam, as they will not act on Pet Cure's. We paid $250 for the consultation and then had to pay again at one of the recommended facilities. This also caused a serious delay in treatment of the pet's cancer."
"We were so lucky to find this facility; our dog was diagnosed with a meningioma, and every other place we called was offering initial appointments weeks and months out. Because PetCure specializes in one thing, we were able to get an appointment in days. Having called so many places (many which didn't even bother calling back!) I would not recommend anyplace else if your pet has cancer and needs treatment. We had an excellent experience throughout. Our dog came here for a consult and then the CT-scan, and then 3 days of radiation treatment, as well as follow-up visits. (As a side recc, while your pet is getting treatment you should grab a meal at Love of Grub - excellent food, and there are definitely not-good food places in the area because we also went to those before we found Love of Grub.) Everyone on the team was patient, kind, and very helpful - even when it was not about them. At our last follow-up visit, we noticed something on our dog's paw which they referred us to our primary vet to check out; this turned out to be a sarcoma, though we didn't end up treating it given our dog's age and condition. What was most memorable was that in our dog's final days, when our primary care vet was not able to see her, we were able to connect with the PetCure team by email (even though they are closed Fri-Sun when this happened, we were able to exchange emails and got responses with reasonable times, pretty amazing considering it was off-hours and we were not even paying them for any of this). They helped us to determined that we needed to get our dog to an ER, who helped us recognize how quickly our dog was declining and to make the challenging final decision for an in-home passing a couple days later. Even though the treatment did not end up being successful for our dog (or honestly, maybe it was and it was something else in the end - she was almost 17 and health problems were cropping up weekly at this point), the team provided incredible service and we firmly believe they enabled us to give our dog the full care we needed and were able to provide, so that we could send her to her final rest knowing we had done everything possible to extend her quality of life. The team's bedside manner and customer care is impeccable, as many of these reviews attest. No animal likes a hospital, and our dog didn't seem to mind this one so much, even wandering around like it was somebody's house. We hope not to have to return to PetCure in future, but it's such a relief to know that if needed (or if a friend needs a recc) we know such an amazing facility nearby. We rest easier knowing our dog had a wonderful life, and part of that was the final treatment we were able to get from the Clifton, NJ PetCure Oncology team, giving us the extra time we needed to do all the things we wanted with our dog and to say goodbye."
"The staff and vets here made a stressful experience much more pleasant for both me and my dog. I feel lucky to live near such a state of the art facility. My dog was treated for an MCT in her chest which could not be excised completely by her surgery. Daisy is a high anxiety little dog, but the vets here are experts at dealing with stressed dogs and I have to applaud the anesthesiologist for finding the right mix for her."
"Dr K saved my baby’s life. I cannot thank him enough. He’s obviously very experienced and knows his stuff but on top of that he’s patient, caring, thoughtful and always available with all of my many questions. My Peanut stopped eating a few months ago, turns he had an autoimmune disease and one doctor we had seen was trying to tell me I’d have to put him down. I searched and asked around and my primary vet recommended Dr Kantrowitz. I cannot be more thankful. He knows what he’s doing. The first time I went to him with my Peanut I was scared upset doubtful and Dr K gave me hope and he said he doesn’t give up easily and that stuck with me. He truly cares. I HIGHLY recommend him. Like I said, my baby wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for us going there. AND ! The lovely ladies at the receptionist desks are absolutely wonderful! Peanut loves them."
"My dog was diagnosed with recurrent soft tissue sarcoma in the same area of her rear leg. She had another surgery in that area, however due to its recurrence we decided to move with radiation therapy. I was looking at other clinics that do radiation therapy, however at PetCure oncology the therapy is more advanced. They offer you SRT/SRS which is higher dose of radiation, however it’s only few days of treatment compare to the regular radiation which is at least 18 daily sessions. The experience that we had at PetCure was amazing, everyone was nice, helpful and understanding. The doctor explained everything to me, the tele visit with radiation oncologist was also great. When my dog got her CT scan done the radiation oncologist sent us the video with the voice recording explaining of what did she see on the scan ( thankfully the cancer cells were on microscopic level) and where the radiation will be administered. We had a very pleasant experience and recommend this place if your pet had been diagnosed with cancer."
