"My story isn't a happy one, but I think Bayonne Animal Hospital handled it as well as they could have. I know their office visits are a bit more pricey than other vets (and I haven't done a price comparison for their other services), but they were very helpful, kind, and responsive in my last minute emergency. In addition to many other symptoms, my cat had completely stopped eating/drinking on a Tuesday. Wednesday morning, I was frantically trying to get any vet to see him, and this was the only office that had availability and was happy to make a same day appointment. We were seen by Dr. Scaffa, and he gave my cat a blood test and some IV hydration/anti nausea medication, and recommended some extra medication for me to pick up Thursday if he still wasn't eating/drinking. By Thursday morning, though, my cat was already in critical condition, unconscious, and unresponsive to any stimuli. We called the vet and they said we could come in immediately. Dr. Scaffa was not working that day, but we were seen immediately when we arrived by another vet and the blood tests were already ready (less than 24 hour turnaround). It turns out my cat had kidney failure and we ended up having to put him down then and there. The next day, Dr. Scaffa personally called to offer his condolences and answer any of my questions. I appreciate the urgent services they provided so quickly, and they were very kind and understanding the whole time."
"This was my first visit to this vet since my cat had an emergency and my main vet office wasn’t answering. Pro: very friendly staff and decent time between arriving and being seen. Very informative vet too Con: THE PRICE. I couldn’t believe that the regular check up price is $109, not to mention the medications added up quick. My cat has had similar medical flare ups before and the medications were practically identical to what I received from my main vet so I don’t understand the drastic cost…. Also, $30 for a nail trim? Come on now. Other vet offices offer that for free considering how much you’re already spending. Wish whoever ran this vet office realized we weren’t made out of money… My primary vet office only charges $60 for the check up and I thought that was high. Although I’m grateful this office was able to assist me, I probably won’t be coming back unless it’s an emergency."
"My first experience was awesome , however the cost just to see the doctor is $100+ . I just got a pitbull , already I had taken her 4 times to the vet , The second time I came to have my dogs nail checked because she was limping , The doctor didn't see that and I had to tell her exactly what the issue is and where , at first we thought it was a bone or muscle issue. After some time , I saw that her nail was the issue , it's really annoying the doctor didn't thoroughly check, I do not like that. If I'm spending $100+ to come see you , I expect you to check my dog fully for that price. Evidently, they're more reactive then proactive and the prices just can't cutt, I will be switching to a different vet because it's economically not smart to continue. I'm a technician , when they call me to fix a computer , I follow up make sure the computer is good without an extra fee."
"The staff here are great and loves my dog which is why I continue to come here. They have excellent customer service which is very important to me. They provide my dog with the best care possible. I am also glad they open 6 days a week and close on certain holidays. I gave them 4 stars only because their services can be expensive!! It's a good thing I have pet insurance or I would have gone elsewhere."
