"I love coming to the Salvation Army because their prices are very affordable, specially in the Zara section because they usually have 60% discount in everything from the original price… the store closes at 5:00pm but the only problem is that the ladies who work in the store start closing and screaming that the store will be close in 10 minutes (4:15pm) which is very annoying. I understand that they need to be close at 5 but they shouldn’t be saying that out loud when is not the time yet. The workers there are super nice and sweet, I just wish they wouldn’t start closing the store 1 hour prior to the actual closing time. Store is a little messy but you always done treasures there!"
"There was nothing in there. It was messy. It smelled funny I definitely will not be returning.."
"My friend was the one who originally introduce me to this place and told me that the best days to go were on Wednesdays because everything was half off. I haven't been in years so I don't know if they still do that, but I went on a Thursday. All the clothing is organized by sizes, types and some even by colors. I was hoping to find some interesting books (like horror novels, manga if I'm really lucky, etc.), but sadly there weren't any beside a very old dictionary and a self-help book. It was the same with the films and video games -- there wasn't really much of anything to pick out. There was a battlefield 3 for the xbox and three films, one of which was a old cowboy movie and I can't remember the other two. They did have a small stack of old vinyl records. I couldn't recognized any of the artists/bands on them. Oh, I also found a singer's sewing machine. I've already got one at home, but I figured I'll mention it because I know it's something that the self-taught seamstress or sew frugal are always on the look out for."
"It was amazing you can find lots of cool stuff if you get there early and if you're lucky enough you can find unused stuff too and really good plushies toys board games that no one has ever even opened yet!!"
"If you want to donate anything to help those who need help, the Salvation Army donation center on Pennington Street in Newark is the place to go. They are helpful, well organized, polite, cheerful, professional and certainly the best place to drop off everything from old clothes to old furniture. They give signed receipts for the IRS and what you leave there gets sold next store in their family store. This is a great place to donate!"
