"Graduated from this school a long time ago but, have siblings that attend. If I had time away from my career and speak to some of these teachers I would do so. Some of these teachers aren’t fair to these young students and really need to go out more or stop taking out their anger on them. They aren’t college students, based off what grading system some of these different teachers follow. Example, Ms Porto you are an arse. Bs and Cs for everyone. Even in my days. My sister, straight A student, and just you F everything up for her. As a guardian/parent, they work hard because they get rewarded for their good grades. But if they don’t get all As, they wont get a “higher tier” reward from us, just a basic reward. Imagine how they feel busting their butts trying. You probably don’t have kids. I got a straight A just for trying in university, but dam one point away from an A or a B, these kids deserve it. If your a parent, ask her how many students got an A and then ask how many got Bs and Cs for trying. The ones with the As better be like Picasso and belong at a university. She’s just number 1 on this list because she hasn’t changed one bit and messed up my report card as well back then. There should be a “ratemyteacher” website for public school teachers and alumnis. Since I learned coding as my high school hobby, I should definitely start it up. (Coding, technology, and typing are soooooooo crucial for todays society. Not social studies that may cover one religion, which is messed up btw, not art or a language because they will learn that freshmen year of high school and MUST take one of each in college to graduate, music, come on, that’s a major if you want in college, not something that helps these kids grow. Technology is everything, not paper and pencils that are damaging there fingers. I have a swelled up spot on my middle finger, from all the useless writing papers I’ve done in middle school. A scar. The structures of curriculum needs to change in public schools. I’m grateful to have taught coding to younger kids who are in middle schools back then. I would definitely recommend a field trip to the Apple store for a coding class, which they do, and have a lot of close friends there that public schools partner up with) If you are Parents be aware and be on top of both your children and teachers. Ask why and how and to show you. Remember these students can’t speak up for themselves because they are young, little, and afraid. When I was younger, I couldn’t say how I really felt to my parents or teachers, but now I’m older and moved on. I tell my siblings to tell me anything and how they feel because I know they won’t tell my parents who expect so much from them and always say the teachers are right. If I really had the time off work and come back home, I would make a trip. Anyways, the school is a wonderful place. Just the teachers grading systems and stressing them out with their old habits. I’m happy to know some of the best teachers still work here. The school principal, Felisa Van Liew, has been here for a long time and knows my family very well because she watched all of us grow up at that school. Security and safety is very well, which I highly appreciate with all the crisis that’s been going around in many schools around the world. I posted this so other parents can understand and see the truth. No need to keep things behind doors to talk it out."
