"My experience since moving here has been wonderful . The apartment was extremely clean , the staff is always friendly and you can definitely meet new people quickly with all of the resident events they host . Katherine has been my point of contact since I got here and she is always so quick to respond to any of my concerns, she’s also encouraged me to go to the events where she usually plays games with the residents or sometimes even sings karaoke with us . I’ve truly loved being here so far ."
"One of my close friends recently had a terrible experience with place. This place is rude, disrespectful and needs more customer service training. While on an apartment search in this area they reached out to me and called my phone being very insensitive and not very accommodating after asking for explanations for income requirements. I have several legitimate streams of passive income and was discouraged by the woman that called my phone not to apply because she said I needed pay stubs and proof when I already offered proof in official documented form. Stay away from this place they will take the excitement and joy out of moving and make it a mundane and difficult process. I am a veteran and feel discriminated against."
"Cynthia Felder helped me through the leasing process and was so nice and so responsive it made the process seamless. A refreshing change of pace from other leasing agents I encountered in my search for a new apartment."
"I lived in Cityline West from fall 2021 to winter 2022- 14 month lease. At that time the building had been open for about 2-3 years. I enjoyed my time there but had a few issues. Pros: -In a quieter area of JC compared to downtown -Most of the other residents were nice and friendly -Aesthetically the apartment was very beautiful. The bathroom is huge! -Relatively safe area -Parking was a decent price- $95 a month -2 elevators (although the back elevator was more for move-ins and service people) -In walking distance to some food places like 5 Guys, Chinese take out, Carvel -Maintenance responded pretty quickly (usually within 2 days). -Gym was functional and never too crowded. -The office people are generally nice and try to be helpful (Sasha, Sabrina) Cons: -The windows in my unit sucked. I could hear so much noise from the outside (my apartment was 5 floors up and faced the street). The crazy part is I would hear people talking on the street from my apartment and it would sound like they were yelling but when I went to the lobby and went outside they were just talking in normal voices. -My dishwasher started leaking less than 2 weeks after I moved in. -The heater would blow cool air for a few minutes before it would get warm even when I had it on heat. I spoke to the Super multiple times about it and he insisted everything was fine. When I spoke to the head super/maintenance guy he told me I had to change the setting which finally worked. This was after spending half the winter having my heat blow cool air on me. -Wifi kept going out. I had the building’s Wifi because it was free but I worked mostly from home so the wifi being out for half the day was not good. -The front desk person/concierge is there usually from 5pm to 11pm/12pm. Not overnight. And they won’t do anything if your neighbor decides to throw a party late at night or anything. For the rent they’re charging I would think the concierges would be overnight at least on the weekends and actually assist you more. -Main elevator kept breaking down. Starting last summer the main elevator would break down every few weeks. Sometimes it would be down for over a week. -The shuttle was usually inconsistent in the afternoons. They would come late when picking us up at Journal Square, sometimes completely missing a pick-up time. They got a bigger Cityline shuttle bus (there’s also the Rivet shuttle) but then there were issues with one of the lady drivers being rude and not allowing us to get on the shuttle in the afternoons from Cityline. -You’re in a college area. The building next door is a college dorm building. Sometimes kids late at night would be walking down the street being loud, yelling and drunk. On one hand I get it because I was in college a few years ago, on the other hand I’m not in college anymore and it was really annoying when I had to be up for work in the morning. -Ridiculous rent increase. My rent when moving in was I guess a new building discount(?) so it was 14 months terms for the price of 12 months. I was paying like $1787 + $95 for parking= $1882 which was already kind of high for a 1 bedroom. Free wifi. Upon renewal I had to pay for wifi $35, water charge(?), parking $125. Rent itself increased to $2300. All together it was about $2,475! Those are downtown Jersey city prices. Even places in NYC are cheaper than that! And there’s not much to do in the area. The light rail sucks and isn’t reliable. Driving to downtown Jersey City would take 25-35 minutes. The ladies in the office tried to help me out a little on the increase but it didn't go down much. I (and many others) ended up moving out."
"City Line West is a great place to live. The staff here is also amazing. If there are any issues, they are quick to address it. I appreciate the property manager accommodating me and finding me a great apartment to live in. If I could give more than 5 stars I would."
