"The Good: The apartments themselves are well-designed & they did a nice job with the decor. The apartments are spacious, with plenty of storage space. The Bad: Some shoddy construction / initial maintenance issues at move-in. At move-in, there was dirt/dust everywhere, paint splatter, and several major appliances were not in place/connected (W/D, fridge, stove), the bathroom light was hanging out of its fixture dangling beneath the shower, the balcony lighting was hanging out of its fixture, the smoke alarm battery was beeping loudly (high ceiling necessitating a tall ladder to fix), and some large safety issues with insecure closet shelving (one of which crashed down onto me after placing some jeans on it --the shelves were installed with tiny, insecure nails that were not up to the job). The appliances were installed quickly, but the W/D didn't work properly for about 3 weeks and all other issues took about 2 weeks to resolve (even the basic battery replacement in the smoke detector - which meant my options for 2 weeks were either to not sleep in the apartment or buy my own ladder/pay for a handyman...). While waiting for all of the closet shelving / clothing rods to be fixed, I couldn't unpack most of my moving boxes. There is one maintenance man, who-- while very kind and helpful-- was completely overwhelmed with the amount of issues in the building he inherited (and apparently, the building was also without anyone for maintenance for some time which created a backlog). In other buildings I've lived in of this size, they've had at least several maintenance folks. Several tenants I met also complained of similar issues w/ construction and maintenance. Worth note - I was very reasonable and understanding to start I raised maintenance tickets, discussed in person with the maintenance man, and emailed the Management company immediately. I was very understanding on the delays for the first week or so (things happen), but got frustrated, hence the review. UPDATE: Beth at the management company was helpful in getting resolution and has followed up to make sure everything was working properly. I have only had one small drainage issue with the shower since and maintenance was quick to resolve. It seems as though the maintenance issues are under control and I'm hopeful that this will be a pleasant place to live. Adding back two stars."
