The Serrano

"Have only lived here for a little over a month but I have nothing negative to say. I looked for an apartment for over 6 mos and toured this one twice. My apartment was clean when I moved in. Maintenance is responsive and quick. The staff- doormen, security, super, porters, etc. are all extremely friendly. The common areas are always clean and there’s always someone cleaning them too. There’s not pet fee and lots of dogs in the building :) If you’ve considered this building, you should apply! Also, I was not bribed with anything to write this review as another reviewer stated."

"I was hesitant to move into this building with the negative reviews from over a year ago but they could not be more wrong. The building staff is so friendly and lovely. The gym and common areas are cleaned daily and kept in great condition. If there is a ticket I open for something in the apartment it gets addressed within 2 days. I love living here and will be very sad to leave one day!"

"My fiancé and I lived at The Serrano for 15 months, and that was enough time for us to realize how poorly managed this “luxury” building is. Upon moving in we were told nothing of the current ongoing construction, and once construction started a couple of months after moving in management told residents it would last 8-12 weeks. Well that was October 2021. It’s now November 2022 and the construction is still going on! We have since moved out thank goodness, but men were right outside our window as in they could look into my apartment for hours at a time and on top of the lack of privacy the noise was insane. Their lack of transparency during the whole process was very upsetting. I have also come across a homeless man in the stairwell, the elevators are unreliable, and to top it off they’ll do nothing to rectify the situations. I even emailed management about said homeless man and received zero reply from them. The only redeeming quality about the building is the staff who were phenomenal which gives my review 2 stars. Needless to say save your money for elsewhere. Oh and if you see a cluster of 5 star reviews there was a promotion going on in our building bribed by a gift card."

"We have lived here for almost three years and for the most part it has been great. The staff is amazing. Management changed about two years ago and they rarely respond to emails in a timely manner if at all. There are cockroaches in many of the shared spaces as well as in our apartment (although they do exterminate). The elevators aren’t super reliable and frequently out of service. Our apartment is “newly renovated” but very cosmetically, we have no grout in the shower, you can see the old flooring in every corner and our toilet has leaked since we moved in. There is also extremely loud construction within the building. All north and west facing apartments also face an active construction site, which I realize isn’t the buildings fault but it goes VERY loudly from 7AM to 6PM on weekdays. There is also a former resident who frequently waits outside the building and has spit/yelled/chased residents and the police are frequently called. It isn’t a terrible place to live but it most definitely not a luxury building as it is being marketed and priced."

"We have lived at the Serrano for over 2 years and absolutely love it! The staff is incredible, all of the doormen and porters are so friendly and helpful. We did have a few issues with the elevators a while back, but now the construction on the elevators is done and we haven't run into any problems since then. The rooftop and the gym are both brand new and beautiful and the laundry room is big and easy to use. I have really enjoyed living here!"
