"For these buildings by Newport Residential - Monthly electricity easily goes up to $600. They also charge you $500 from security deposit even after you hired people to clean the apartment. The Management office is very irresponsible and unfriendly. On average you end up paying more living here, compared to the nice and newer buildings around."
"The views are great. The maintenance guys fix most things in time. But the building lacks any sort of additional amenities as of this date. The management has started the construction of a swimming pool in front of the building but there is no guarantee that it will be free or subsidized for East Hampton residents. Also the construction has caused a lot of driveway blockage and noise."
"I have been living in this apartment community for a while now, and while the location is great, there have been some issues that I feel need to be addressed. Firstly, the construction happening in front of the building has caused logistical issues for residents. Secondly, the corridors are extremely cold and often unbearable. Additionally, residents are not allowed to use the backdoor for navigation which is inconvenient. Lastly, while the property management team has been apologetic about these issues, there have not been proper solutions provided. Overall, while the location is great, there are some issues that need to be addressed. All these points need to be read in the context of very high rental prices as well."
"Before the pandemic, 1-bedroom was 2600. In 2022 it went up to 3400+, with all the old problems: leaky & breezy windows (gets really cold in winter), popping wood floor tiles, cockroaches, old appliances and cabinetry, and now that almost every apt has a dog - constant barking. Yes, you'll love the view, but only for a few weeks. Expect 10-15% rent hikes when your lease expires, they know you're lazy to move out, and they'll make you aware of that in a very rude way."
"Great views, great location, clean neighborhood. However the building is very old and the windows are barely insulated, so the apartments get extremely cold in the winters. The maintenance hasn't kept up so expect to see bugs/cockroaches every now and then, even if you keep the apartment clean, or face issues with the washer/dryers etc. The management is good at returning security deposit though if you get the apartment cleaned before leaving."
