"Never reviewed a convenience store before but this place deserved one. 7-11 Adventure Crossing was like no other I've been in. The nicest 7-11 I've even seen. Nicest convenience store period. This place was spotless, friendliest staff and huge selection. Cleanest store I've ever been in. Even the Slurpee area was spotless. Big Kudos to the employees."
"I usually stop here for a drink and quick snack before heading on my way. Depending on who’s working there it can either be really clean and kept up or it can get a little disheveled. But the facility in general is well lit. Today I saw their gas price was pretty reasonable for the area (and really good considering it’s right off of 95). I got snacks for my roommate and I before taking the car over to get a tank of gas. I paid for full in cash and waited for the tank to fill. Once it was full the attendant didn’t top the tank to the nearest dollar (which is a personal pet peeve of mine cause I hate pulling out change) but when she comes over she says the total is rounded up! But the price on the pump wasn’t near that number at all. The attendant claimed it was corporate policy to just make people pay to the nearest dollar if they’re paying in cash. I told her if that’s the case I want the amount of gas that they’re charging or I’m giving exact change. The attendant said that they could ‘let me’ pay exact change this one time cause they don’t normally allow people to pay exact change. I didn’t want to bother pulling out change from the little spot in my car so I just told them to just take it. I didn’t receive the full product but got charged for it anyway. Thank goodness I didn’t use my card like what other people have done and lost money cause of overcharging."
"Everything I wanted to purchase was not available. No hot dogs / buns no nachos no slurpee machines available. No taquito rollers. 711 is not what it uses to be 10 years ago. By the way tell the food handlers to not wipe there noses and touch there phones. Was gonna do 3 stars but after seeing the carelessness with food handling … no wonder Wawa has you guys beat. Certainly won’t be back to this location. Waste of time."
"Don’t use your card here to get gas! The gas attendants have no clue what they’re doing and swiped my card over 5 times when i prepaid for $40 gas which then caused $125 hold on my money in my account plus the $40 gas I got! There’s no reason to have a hold on my money when I was prepaying for $40… I can understand the outrageous amount of the hold of I had told the attendant to fill up my tank, But I specifically asked for $40!!!!! When I returned and asked about the extra charge of $125, I was told it was a hold and would drop off my account in fifteen minutes- while another attendant said give it 24 hours to drop off- well it’s still there day later and now I can’t access my own money due to negligence if the attendant not knowing how to properly do his job and swiping my card several times at the gas pump!! Ridiculous right up there with the price of gas"
"This store is a first of its kind in the United States. I am a 7-Eleven follower of: NJ (all), NY (Queens and ALL of east LI), TX (Dallas), San Diego (all, and I mean all), Tijuana and all of Baja/Baja Sur, and Singapore (6mo only). This is the biggest, most well stocked, most modern, beautiful location my eyes have ever seen. The Montauk LI location was formerly my favorite - that one is huge and has a LONG history. Tijuana had a fairly large and complete corner location east of the tourist area. But THIS new 550 Monmouth Rd location is far and beyond something special. Three Franke (Swiss) A1000 fresh grind instant coffee makers, every variety of coffee (including Guatemala, YES). Nicest looking and feeling solid glass refrigeration doors, every drink you can ever want in every flavor (the Gatorade has flavors I had no idea about). A deli counter of sorts. Yes I know most locations use the excellent 1 min 40 second convection ovens, but this is a step beyond. Please don't get in fights at the checkout - they didn't sort out the start of line direction yet, no signs. Two big counter, separate checkout registers. Fireworks - massive assortment of medium stuff. NJ tourism items of high quality. TONS of ice (ok, maybe 1000 lbs). Genuine Wiffle ball bats, rubber and Nerf like footballs, solid, stone bar style counters at the front windows. HUGE, wide gasoline pump lanes. Glass, stainless and stone everywhere. Older locations have been modernizing and changing their interiors - that was just the beginning. There is even a authentic tasting JAMAICA and HORCHATA! The jamaica is killing me - a surprise of goodness. Has the proper acidity and biterness, totally smooth, with a perfect balance of sweetness - not too much. Not sure if it is a powder (probably since it has an aerated tank on top). I will say it is extremely better than the Coca Cola Mexico versions - those are terrible but palatable since they use natural, non-sugar sweeteners (I hate sugar). Get yourself some dried hibiscus - it is great like unsweetened tea on a humid July day. Anyway, love this place. Since it is a free standing building, there is a back door - which may be locked overnight - don't know yet. Like the Quick Check next to Hamilton Train Station. I will be here three times a week forever. One last thing - the prices here are typical and lower than smaller, independent locations. Everything scans as marked too. Reason: They know Wawa is across the street and are expecting high volume of foot traffic - so no need to gouge people for taxes and rent. Great prices for a 7-Eleven or convenience store. (I got ripped at some other NJ locations multiple times - an ownership issue, not 7-Eleven Corp. issue)."
