"No part of the sleep study experience was positive. From unreturned phone calls, trouble scheduling, to getting a call three hours before the sleep study telling me the tech was sick and that it was cancelled (they then managed to get another yech), to that tech being as cold, impersonal, brusque, to the room itself now being in the basement of the hospital and looking like a prison room- two tiny thin, flat pillows, a 'blanket" that was really a sheet, no toiletries- not even a cup. When I said I probably wouldn't watch TV the tech started to remove the remote control from the room as if it couldn't be left in the room if I wasn't going to use it. In the morning (they discharge you at 530 AM !) she crudely pulled the 18 leads that were glued to my head, face and chest, didn't wipe any of the glue off and and was ready to let me walk out with a dozen big white lumps of glue on my face- I had to ask for a towel as there were none in the room and then try to scrub the glue off (you'd expect that as part of the process they'd remove it from the patient with a solvent). Despite signs asking for "Quiet Please" all over the area there was a constant drilling noice from the floor above the bedroom. This experience was horrible and a joke. AVOID."
"Very safe clean and professional, friendly"
"They should just close this department. They never answer your phone calls and their excuse was high volume of calls. Either they are understaffed or just plain lazy to pick up the phone. Whoever is the head of this department should re-evaluate how to run this place properly."
"Awful! I was there 3 weeks ago...25 degrees out...at midnight I woke up and said i.was cold and asked for heat to be raised (I had fleece PJs on). She asked what temperature I wanted...I replied 70...and she said oh it's not on!! What the hell! I heard footsteps and talking in hallway even though door was closed ..and the click of doors several times...and a vent above my right shoulder was very noisy.. What an awful night...and they told me I can shower and wash my hair but they don't have hair dryer... I didn't plan to wash my hair, and asked if I would be able to work the following day...I was told yes...I was mad that some thick stuff was put in several places in my hair! I had to go home...20 min.away....wash hair with lots of shampoo and conditioner then go to work (not far from the hospital)! Don't have results yet but the nurse said I slept a lot.. most of the night.. I can hardly believe that....I was struggling to fall asleep and also to go back to sleep when I woke up twice to go to the bathroom....the room should be sound proof! And why a noisy vent! I got stuck with about $600 bill...10 percent! They called today to say the Dr. Wants me to go back to have a second study done, with a CPAP....no thank u....my plan is stay far from Englewood Hospital.. look at the review from a year ago...an unhappy person because it wasn't clean!"
"My companion, Lee Lieberman, has had two terrific experiences, nine years apart. Very attentive staff supplied a recliner and hospital bed to copy his home bed arrangement. Dr Engler explained the results clearly."
